Setting up.

Six had a long wait for the truck, it was only two hours till arrival on Fenris's word. However, her travel was rather brief considering her unusual transportation method. By the time she was discovered in the caves, she was well under way drawing renovation plans upon the walls, with a broken piece of stone. The materials and generator would be directed toward the deeper of the two larger caverns, furthest from the entrance. The generator however, would be transported with great care by her re-constructed quadrupedal companion, otherwise, the carriers would suffer a maddeningly complex series of protests till the object was safe and sound, for she recognized it and the value right off the bat. As they left, she would request a return in twenty hours. Plenty of time to analyse materials and begin construction.

Construction began, Reverse engineering the generator. She did not require one just yet, after all. Three hours of assisted efforts, and utilizing D-5 to leech power till completion.

Task two, was to rebuild it. With the exes of new materials and the materials transferred with her she would reconstruct the device, allowing enough power to potentially obliterate the cave, but more importantly modified as a self sustaining magic engine. Yay magic energy. one hour.

Task three. Demolition and essentials. D-5 handled the careful cutting of stone to shape the walls first, turning the main chamber into a symmetrical room with four corners, and a ceiling. The ceiling would be a mildly curved dome, and the floors would flat. Six during this progress would assemble a very large work station. A center island table, and a hexagon of large work benches surrounding it, with one exit point at the back. ten hours.. Six sleeps for five.

Final task. With renovations complete, Six would begin craft. Drones, equiped with two tools.. One electric cutter, one good grasper. Drones helped build drones, and craft small parts. Six bound spells like programs to emulate hearts of the machines. Simple ones, allowing power distribution for motor functions and tools, still complicated enough, aiming for twenty fist sized simple four legged drones.

Part of the way through, she begins expecting company.

The voice seemed to roll over the busy little cave like a drop in a rainstorm. The dwellings where full of the rapid clicking sounds of drones. The sparking and buzzing off strange electric cutters, Grinding sound of metal scraping metal as drones shaped parts, Grinding chatter of cold stone being ground and the heavy clack of pounding as five continued its progress shaping the interior. The voice unheard.. Though, one particular trip of Four, with a compartment full of stone ruble, let him to pause and view the figure in the entry of the now "main" chamber. His freeze, was everything else's sudden pause button. Everything frozen the instant his blue ocular reflected the mechanic was no doubt a very eerie sight.

To break the silence and stillness, Six got up to her feet, having been on her knees behind a the island table working. " Greetings. Your dress suggests you are with the one who brought us here. The messenger, Errand runner, Observer, or one sent to assist it matters not for you are here. This one is Six. You are no doubt capable of solving a unfortunate issue for her, yes? Look around a moment. This is a place is a work station, yes? Obvious thing. What does it lack, you think? Where are the design plans. The records.. Anything written or drawn. There is not, because unfortunately there was no paper offered. " By this time, she was already almost right up on the woman, had been slowly strolling closer.

" So. " She continued, leaving hardly any room to respond. " We need trees. And Her range of communication is very limited. So, if you would please assist Five. " Touches the head of the large drone who first witnessed the arrival. " He is not calibrated for indipendance. However, he is the only with the instruments and capability to retrieve a tree. Yes.. A walk, find a tree, guide him back. Do you accept? " And there she was, the extremely soft spoken blue haired woman dressed in sparse stretches of spandex, standing eye to black star clustery looking eye.. Finally silent... Ah, precious silence. But those eyes though, hard to refuse when one stared with such potent will, and expectancy. Least, for most it was this way.

Remaining silent till the moment there was acceptance, or it would have been upon refusal, her lips pressed flat, a.. sort of.. smile. " Brilliant. Five. " Her eyes turned to the drone. " Follow this one, Use her for navigation. You've already ingrained your tasks, correct? " Buzzzzz, was her reply. Her attention returned. " Five may require orders to trigger the memory, Suggest pointing to a tree and repeating Deliver object to base. And if five does not follow once finished, try.. Coordinating route to base, Tacking coordinates. Then just start moving, Simple.. Likely much easier then having you memorize more efficient programming code. Yes. Hmm...codes.... Wonder what would happen if -" Her eyes went wide a moment, she about faced to view one of the drones was cutting another in half, and so she rushed over to intervene. First, by simple noticed it seemed to stop functioning, then.. She would pull the drone open and remove the core, inspecting it carefully. A correction was made, in the form of a unusual energy arch from her fingertip at it. Reinserted, the defective drone carried about its normal routine, while she takes the wounded back to a desk for repair.

Five would be happy to march out the cave, drop the loud of rubble, and proceed to wander in increasingly coordinated paths the further it distanced itself from base, left alone too long it would start running into things and drown out programming in effort compensate for the lack of updates and eventualy.. maybe days or less.. it would go completely rouge.

Meanwhile, Six's repair was finished, and her work continued for several minutes to finaly hit that twentieth drone. At this point, she would begin upgrading her environment again, starting the craft of tools by herself. The drones assisted.

Big oak tree, acquisition.

Poor number five, found itself a tad outmatched by the indicated tree. There would be no way to carry out the task in one go, and perhaps the tools on its person might not be up to the task. Still, the order was registered, the quadruped machine would bumble over to the tree and apply both fore-graspers to the bark to help stabilize itself. The center of its fixed head, underneath the large fixed lens would part and a series of intricate spinning rings would extend, detached of any physical bonds, and spin at independent speeds. It seemed that with great speeds they began to stably produce and maintain a minor energy field that funneled outward from its body, evident in air relentlessly sucking through. A small slide to its core opened, and magic energy would be vented, pulled through and sped to a heated stream to blast into the tree, slowly burning a hole one might fit a golf ball through. Five would start to shuffle clockwise around the tree after a short while, but it was obvious it wasn't cutting all the way through, no exit point. Five minutes of this and five would all but power down, plopping to the ground, closing up its cutter.. It hummed and chirped occasionally like it was tired. After ten minutes of being fairly unresponsive, it got up and droned back onto the task. Tree collection, 140 minutes before fall.

If five was left alone to its repetitive circling, the tree would inevitably collapse following the angle of the cut, and the first large branch would be collected. Five drug it along by placing the largest portion on its back and strapping it down with one leg, tripod walking was easy enough, one leg ahead, two for hauling at the back. Breaks where frequent because five was tired. Direction of travel, hardly accurate, effected by fatigue.

Mad scientist doomsday device?
By the time Five would likely return, six had already finished a rather.. Dangerous looking object. The object was composed of a large stone which seemed to be fused together by raw energy and metal buckles. This stone was possibly the size of a small car, and produced a constant roar. Surrounding it first where many odd pieces, some seemed to float with independent function in orbit within the radiating energies, these pieces mostly composed singular discs or one ring spinning within another. Some were fixed to a internal skeleton that would assist the stone’s rotation by basic mechanics. Some were fixed nodes, or ones that traveled small distances on rail, either to bombard magic energy into the stone, or move along to assist currents of energy. On the external where eight large metal rings with what might be some form of writing bored through in a pattern all around any ring. Those large rings composed of flexible sections that allowed some size adjustment, on the outer edges small gears would turn one way o the other to enable these segments such motion. The rings where whirling fast, and deliberately off kilter in such a way that each supported another in rotation with a small contact point. Those rings formed a cone , size contracting or expanding around the whole work, seemed to contain.. for the most part.. the raging storm of energy inside. At the very top was fixed dome, sprouting a tangled mess or wires all feeding from the magic engine Six designed. The device stood roughly five feet tall, and the dome which would also occasionally match up in width to the top ring, would be only four feet across. The whole thing supported by one crude chain. Underneath it, a basket ball sized chamber with a mounted ring of crystals over a focal crystal. A dark stone was fixed on the top.. Glowing ominously. Every five to twenty minutes the cone would blast straight down, energy was held, absorbed, collected, and fed into the stone. Every time, the noise would shake the cave, Six preemptively ducking under her main table just after the twenty drones, all coordinated on the device would attach themselves to the external ring’s gears.

Speaking of six..
She’d be right there in the middle of her work station very carefully using any one of nine objects to assist with another.. Shaping her unique tools. And all the while, this creepy humming.. Not so much a melody, but a precise series of flat tones. Her eyes unblinking and a solid black. Added humming, and the fact that she moved as if time was drastically slower for her.. Made the whole situation.. Concerning.. No doubt.

Tronny had grown a bit fond of the little machine as she saw it work diligently, it was almost as if it had feelings. Ultonis were trained to be perceptive and observant of their surroundings and of other beings, and as a result she found herself feeling slightly guilty indicating it to perform such a strenuous task. "Can I help?" she asked the machine as she took out an Ultonis-Issue "Howler Blade" in her right hand. She knew it was slightly silly and she had a soft-spot for machines. She began to saw if not stopped but would get a transmission from HQ regarding a change of plans. Once this was done the woman would lighten the load by using her grav-harness to align with the field of the tree and tug it forward as the machine also lugged it, while she listened to the transmission with a furrowed brow.-


-Upon arrival back at the cave. "Six is it?" she called out. "I just have received word that your support might be needed, how quickly can you repair your machines, and manufacture more?" the woman asked. The Discordian campaign needed some back-up but it was a bit of a risk since this woman was still not entirely trusted yet. "It is a very important campaign, it is against the Chaos-Beast Vivi who has been the cause of much woe to the realms of Nexxus." Tronny continued trying to "sell it".

Upon the greeting, six remained in that lucid zombie looking state. It was moments after she received the message that her head lifted, and white faded into being where her pupils might be. " Support? " She looked one way, then the next.. Recalling inventory. " In war.... She has made clear she will refuse to construct weapons. What form of support is required, however? Does she have a commission? " Her thumb points over her shoulder to the doomsday device. " She has already begun this project, for lack of others. First day, consider. Majority of materials have already been utilized, progress has been made, Six is operating at maximum, F... Five could use a tune up. There are twenty miniature cutting drones. Work station has been assembled, all hand tools are assembled. The device just there is a prototype, assembled in effort to produce a solid fuel to enable function of new machines without the more difficult assembly of M.E.Gs or parts affiliated. Substitutes would also be unescisary, such as the cores within the small drones. Unfortunately, the new power source would not be able to store data, so without additions she would not yet be able to construct they would need manually controlled. Hmm. Right now.. To answer your question. She can start new projects right now, but she will not trust with weapons, and without a commission she would not know the materials she may require. "

Five diligently worked back and forth meanwhile, and would likely continue to do so. Making scans of the interior, and cutting on wood. Aparantly, having the whole tree outside so, short trips. Five the lumberjack/woodcarver. Sad.

Tronny was annoyed at how long it took to respond. "There are no people living in Discordia only mutants and chaos-spawned creatures." the woman told her looking at her. "According to the Primoris-Ultonis you are quite adept at making weapons, and that machine you are making looks pretty dangerous..." she said gesturing at the "Doomsday" device. "The fact of the matter is that you could only -save- lives by helping in the campaign, as there is no sentient or free creature in Discordia that has not been corrupted by the chaos-beast." Tronny explained. "They need resources and hydroponics, and a way to stop the land from turning on them."

She repeated, mid way through Tronny's response. " No... Weapons.. " Obviously unwavering on this point.Though, she did stop to mull things over for a minute, pacing away from her work station. " Curious thing you've told. The land, turns on people? How? or.. What exactly. Perhaps there is a means of countering such. As for resources.. There must be a heavy need for supplies in healing, nourishment, and hydration, yes? Six has many successful experiments in these in the past. Also... Armor, perhaps she could provide armors.. Perhaps.. She knows nothing of the terms or conditions as of yet and would require further data analysis to determin what she may be comfortable with offering. Her technologies have been.. Misshandled.. in the past, and lead to many follies she regrets. " she shook her head hard. " No weapons. Not now, not ever. She will not see the disasters these hands are capable, no. "

Tronny scowled a the interruption which was hidden by her mask, but when Six seemed to reconsider she carried on "The Chaos Beast known as Vivi has declared war on a city-state that is allied with Celesin because it was offended by one of its residents." she told her. "We have armour, but ways of making the land habitable or lessening the corruptive influences would be invaluable, however you would have to go there and see things for yourself because it is likely very hard to undo the source of the power, healing might be good as well or perhaps security mechanisms?"

She stood still, processing for a long moment. It was likely to Tronny's relief she didn't break right into more long winded dialogue. Instead, she made her way back to the desk and sat, with her palms down on the metal surface, fingers splayed. There was an occasional twitch of her neck, canting her head one way or the other. Finally, she stilled and eyed Tronny. " ... She should go, for field research. There are a few things she would like to take with her, preparations.. yes. So, inhospitable land. Small scale environment alterations are possible.. Weather though.. " She could not help a small smile. " Six has never had the pleasure of expirimenting with weather manipulation, that could be interesting." She paused, corrected her expression." Chaos. beast.. " Was whispered" The land, If under effect of energy, magic or otherwise, this one could gather it for study, perhaps offer a neutralizers. She would like one of those machines... The rejuvenation chamber she encountered on her arrival, perhaps she could craft something more.. portable.. out of it. Security.. She is not certain as to what needs secured or what against, but there are shields that might help, depending. You mentioned chaos beast. Chaos as an energy form is often something that makes structured magic energy go haywire. However, in her experience it can also be utilized many different ways. Can.. Maybe not.. It always seems to turn out a little different depending on the source of influence. Mm... Production of water is easy. Accelerated growth of flora and fauna, easy. Making animals grow or age? bad memories, can't help with that. Shields, Water, Food, These are offers. The rest, she needs to be there, to determine if it can be guaranteed. " She started to stand, all the sudden a strange noise, and Six went all rigid and looked paralyzed a moment. Her head craned slowly toward a particular crate that was shoved off in a corner, away from everything. " ... .. .... .... ... ... Seven... " Normality came rushing back, she uprighted and paced a bit, toward the doomsday machine. " Well.. There is the option of dividing Seven into multiple combat functioning bodies.. nn.. Or other security devices, such as mobile turrets. If weapons are absolutely needed." She sighed, muttering "if only eight was here." As she went close, inspecting the machine for defects, and progress. " She would have more to offer, had she the rest of her family. She has five, and seven, no one else, the rest where left behind for her coming here. Ah.. Finally. " She would pull the plug on the machine rather abruptly. Slowly pulling out the sphere, the rest of the gadgetry remained. The sphere was brought over to a work bench and the drones followed, assisting in removal of bolts. When the object opened it did so with a menacing, angry hiss, the mist that came from it was electrified. Made the drones go all.. wonky for a moment, seemed to avoid Six. Clear, she seized a unusual greenish blue lump of radiantly glowing crystal from the open container. " Ahhh.. Success, though plenty of room for refinement. See? " She held the crystal out for Tronny to witness. Then all the sudden.. A surge, in both streaming magic energy and wild electric arcs, seemed to assault poor six. Making her go into a standing fit of seizures, and fall over when it finished. Still the crystal glowed intensely. Six clutching onto the thing. ".... ow... " Pouty, temporarily paralyzed Six whined..

Tronny was gratified and slightly relieved the woman was willing to be of some help, however she still could not really follow the way she spoke save for the tech-jargon. It was also probably a good thing at this juncture she was not willing to make more weapons, but then what had she fought the Ultonis with if not weapons? "Apparently the energy there, or force rather is very volatile and hard to control or to usurp control from its maker..." she said before Six started spasming, unsure what to do the Ultonis was unsure if the girl was in danger, so she took out a rod that was standard issue to all personell as it generated a disruptive field along its surface and sought to knock the cube from her hand gently.

When struck the crystal gave another violent protest, another surge, though free of Six's grasp. Peices easily broke off when hit, and a few more scattered when it hit and slid across the stony floor. Six observed. " Hm.. Far too brittle.. Perhaps reinforcing the structural bond will enable greater stability. " She mumbled. Then, slowly, up righted herself. She eyed one of the tiny chipped off peices a moment, and a drone came by, seized one, and drove it directly into its power core. The result.. Nothing happened for a fraction of a second, then the little drone would flip out, overcharging to the point its violent seizuring was like a vibration, it bounced and zoomed about in a small area before exploding with peices going bouncing all over. An odd effect, is that around one of the legs of her metal work bench the drone was closest to, would suddenly curve, split, and twist up like a joint sending the end of the table leg through the top of the table's surface. Six, had no reaction other then following all this with her eyes. Her head tilted afterward. " Bad experiment. Sorry. " She points. " That.. Is a result of a motor function spell system. How.. Did it extend to such a wide area... Or even outside the designated system... There is nothing, that should not even be possible. ... Scrapping project. Five, dispose of crystal fragment, Machine will be disassembled. "
She about faces, walking toward it, remaining drones assist in the carefull deconstruction. " A plus, now she has more materials to work with. Perhaps she can design a prototype shield as a sample, for fortifications, or deployable cover.. Not sure. What do you think? "

"They have deployable cover, which might be useful in other situations, however what we need are seismic stabilizers and something to try and weaken or prevent influence in certain areas..."the woman said. "As for your power-source it probably needs some kind of insulation to help regulate the energy escape for starters, though in the end you probably want to figure out a way to give it more controlled output, as it seems it is not only dangerous, but can overload perhaps with great force, or leak too much energy to quickly, though I am unsure as to the nature of the device." she continued.

Her eyes turn back with the suggestion, was that a glare? it seemed to make that face rather creepy. " Six may experiment with it another time, not the best resources here, presently. Could be the crystal, could be faulty writes. Could be bad condensation gasses and matter, could be many things. Not much of a point in analyzing things with more pressing business at hand. So.. Some form of seismic stabilizers.. For buildings, troops, or vehicles? How bad could it be? For buildings one could consider simply the use of rubber, or perhaps tethering through anti gravity fields. Something. Not sure about the others, make them fly? Not a difficult concept there. Hm.. She would like some vehicles though.. It would help construct a small mobile facility, so that this one can travel with all her resources on hand. " She nodded. Then, the large crystal at the center of the machine would fall out, rings scattered everywhere, crystal breaks.. Mess all over the floor. Six had side stepped its fall. Not concerned. Five played janitor for it. " Yes, a mobile base would be perfect. Six prefers Legs, over wings or wheels, safer travel, broader terrain coverage. She will travel, see what needs doing first hand."

"For the ground, apparently the earth opened up and large worm like creatures burrowed through and sought to create sink-holes, perhaps repelling them or being alerted to their presence would be more beneficial." Tronny said. She had perceived the glare but her Ultonis-Mask kept her face ambiguous at all times. "May I suggest sending some sort of sonar effect that could perhaps detect the creatures, possibly repel them, and maintain sub-geo activity at a static level?" it was a tall order and off the top of Tronnys head, she was unsure if she cold make such a thing, tech to her was a bit of a passion but she was a soldier first and foremost and her technological expertise was limited to practical matters such as repair, and maintenance for the most part. "So you wish to go to Discordia?" she asked. "A mobile facility might be doable, but I recommend something that does not need to touch the ground." she said. "Though so far the first incursion was apparently stopped, it can potentially get far more hazardous." she told Six.

"... Sand worms.. " She would almost giggle, if it wasn't for the seeming inability let out a less steady breath, or smile much.. She went to that pondering mode again, for a short while. " Giant worms? Sure. They are blind most likely. There are normally natural hazards they avoid, detected by natural frequencies or specific vibration.. Sometimes a lack there of. Emulating the sound and vibration of flowing lava for example, not a difficult feat, and most things tend to avoid lava. Not sure how to go about repairing a sink hole.. Fill.. it? Hm.. anchor a patch at the top? Ah! She recalls experimentation with accelerated crystal growth. Success, but for the quality of the crystal rendered it absent of any practical value. Could plug it up with crystals, probably. Getting there though. mmm.. This one does not like to fly, but ground travel sounds too dangerous. Yes. Flying vehicles it is then. Hopefully not the sort with those.. " She twirls her finger around. " Spinning.. fan.. Things. She'll probably have to engineer a new propulsion system but at least majority of a good aircraft would be useful otherwise.. Weight, components.. So on. Plus it will give her an idea of your level of technologies. Yes? " She murmers " Still putting legs on it. " In the silence, where she continues to work at breaking the machine down, she would blurt. " Shut UP! " before turning around, seizing a table.. Which, had been bolted to the floor say for one oddly bent and dissected leg, till she lifted it, and threw it across the room, colliding with that crate in the corner. " No weapons! No destruction! No new suit! " Six.. yelling? It was odd to hear. She didn't seem to have the chords for it, the louder her voice tried to go the less it remained consistent voice instead of air. Hardly a yell at all. After this she took a deep, aggravated breath and sunk down, holding her head with one hand. " Apologies.. Seven has been bombarding this one with.. Offensive noise.. for some time now. " her head twitched some. " It's fine.. "

"The worms were not -that- big." Tronny extrapolated. "Man-sized I believe." she told her. "But that is an idea that could work, but there is also a factor of a hive-mind with their creator and his presence in the atmosphere tainting it with his influence, however there can be feasible ways to circumvent that." she said deciding to "talk-shop" for the moment since it seemed practical.

She raised her brows again at the schizophrenic outburst but she knew she was communicating with her machines, but the actual show of emotion even if it was annoyance was something to consider, she did not think the woman capable of such an outburst. Regardless she continued onward. "Making reliable hydroponics is also an issue, since we can't eat the food there, and trying to grow anything would make it tainted, creating some enclosure to maintain food resources and farm would be good but they would need to be secured, and the earth-quake issue is a problem... Honestly we might wanna start small at first, anything too ambitious before we even see the land might not be viable once we see the situation on the ground... However I can arrange for transport by tomorrow if you want to go to the front." she told her.

A long exasperated breath somewhere between Tronny's words transpired, Six eyeballing the mashed crate wearily. But, true to her nature, she was always up for the next task and chimed in almost before her beat. " Of coarse they would be isolated. This one does not trust food that is grown in natural soils or weather exposure due to the influences of forces beyond her control, they could be deadly. Trust.. Her gardens, they float.. Aside from maintenance the system is.. can be.. should be, completely automated. Further. Hive minds are not a difficult thing to influence, obstruct, or divert. This one should know, she has suffered such herself, many times. So now, the only thing we have left to talk about is where the supplies will go.. and what she will be bringing along. Yes. Get started, she will prepare herself, and equipment. " The drones, the remaining ones quickly took action into construction. She had herself and smaller drones to work. Five started at the demolition of wood into dust. Water plus pressure between two metal plates, adition of electrical heat equaled.. paper.. And that paper would be written on. Craft would continue simultaneously toward larger, more versatile drones.

" It is unwise to disturb this one's progress at this time. Mistakes can be made. Things can blow up."

Tronny felt some relief though Six still was strange to her, she did not trust her, but she already had ideas of what they could do. "Perhaps we will see about placing things near the northern border away from the heart of the land so that we can have some leeway in setting up preparations on that front... I will let you work for now, but we leave tomorrow, I will come get you when the time is right..." she told Six.

She was actually getting what she wanted, something to do other than sit around here watching this person to make sure they did not blow anything up or make a drone army to attack. Still this might be useful, and those hover gardens sounded promising.

Over the coarse of the night, Six would construct two drones, three feet tall quadrupedal constructs. Five had been deconstructed for this assembly. The new constructs seemed to run rather smooth, an improvement to that noisy clunking around and slow lumbering. The twins would also have the bonus feature of Six's entire tool set built into their forelimbs, separate from the legs, less bulky, those arms normally rested folded on top of themselves, on the body. The drones would also have posable heads and four eyes. Two larger, fixed lenses, and two closer together underneath fitted into collapsible cylinders. The drones came in Matt black and positioned themselves at the entrance of the cave. Four crates, and one mystery object stood between them. The object was wrapped in a thick paper-like substance, standing eight feet from the ground, three feet wide, two feet thick. It could be a small obelisk judging by the packaging shape.. But who knows.

Six had modified equipment for herself as well, in the form of metal backpack like object. Three circular panels on both sides. A obvious power source as the outer center revealed a constant radiating aura. Multiple simple plates at the top and sides, for storage purposes. Six's trademark sign engraved across the entire visible surface. A five pointed symbol with convex curves instead of lines which would have made a star. The interior of the curves jagged. The would be star surrounded by A cog, the surface of which filled with twelve unusual character glyphs. Six would be standing behind the object, facing away.. Asleep. Would remain so till disturbed, or 28 hours passed.

/me Tronny returned after having established a few cart-loads of supplies Fenris had also asked her to bring some "Phantoms" "Avengers" and "Raid-Hounds" though not too many of them. She arrived at the cave with all the vehicles in tow. "One more thing, apparently the air there is corrupted, you might need to wear some Alis gear or something to protect yourself..." Tronny said looking at the female as she messed with a device in her hand. "The gateway is being prepped were leaving in five..."

" She is ready " Six exclaimed from behind the large package. Even as she said this, the two drones would come to life. Getting down into a squatted position to slide their left shoulders underneath cross bars to lift the machine.
