Something fun to chew on. Help others visualize your characters: Which celebrity do they most look/sound like? [PIC/LINK HEAVY]

I almost never do these things because I'm sort of fickle in terms of my view of my own character; I'm a perfectionist, and the things I find online to represent my characters are never really where I want them to be, so when I come across something else days/months/years later, it will up and change.  ANYWAYS, I will give a crack:  let's do Drustan.


Speaking with Khooey about his commission, I've given her images of a lot of Greek men, and pointed out the existence of a strong jawline for him; there aren't many celebrity faces I'd choose to represent that since my image of him is -- again -- very specific in my mind, but the best representation I have I think is Henry Cavill.

I like his face in particular because it has the strong jawline I feel very definitive of Drustan's look; when Drustan feels strong emotions, I like to point out the clenching of his jaw; I like to mention his chin in fights as being able to take a hit; his jaw is just a frequent point of reference for me when discussing Drustan's hard exterior.  I also find when Henry grows a beard his face is a little more rounded, which is an important option for variability with Drustan.  All in all, his face does the most for my image of Drustan.


Drustan's voice is less defined for me.  When I first started writing him he was pretty young, so it had a sort of lofty timbre to it.  However, he's older now.  Its got that faux-English accent that you see in a lot of period movies; baritone with a touch of gruffness to it.  For Drustan's voice, I give you: Russell Crowe!  I would say Drustan's voice is still just a little higher to convey his youth, but Crowe has the rumble to his voice that I like to put into Drustan.

In terms of body and skin tone, Khooey already knows what I like.  :afro:   So, this is predictable a little, but I don't go to any other reference for Drustan anymore; this is about as perfect as I can get.  I give you: David Pocock.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]  6'0" even, 229 pounds, built-athletic build; Pocock is a rugby player for the Australian rugby union, and an openside flanker for the Brumbies rugby team.  The thing I spoke to Khooey most extensive about are his calves, thighs, and ass.  He's got big guns too, broad chest and shoulders -- in general Pocock and Drustan are both built like brick-shit-houses, but the focus on the legs is to suggest Drustan actually lifts and carries more weight than you'd initially assume, but he's fast despite his size.  I feel rugby players, and in particular Pocock, have the appropriate combination of physical strength and speed that Drustan could best utilize as a combatant.

Drustan's skin tone is olive to light brown.

I imagine Drustan's home life as sun drenched; also, he's got crimson eyes and I think crimson eyes + brown skin is the most win combination ever.
