The Path To War Empty The Path To War

Post by Galvery Mon Sep 28, 2015 11:39 am

The rain pours over the canopy, drenching the sea of trees; however, in was below where the true storm was brewing. Below in the shadows a portal registers that leads from a realm of such horrid nightmares and home to the villainous Lich King, Baelstrom; which, just arrived under escort of his titan. The Undead Commander stood ominously at his side in complete silence, save the trembling of the ground beneath the monstrous beings' feet and he is a monster for sure; standing fifteen meters tall and a thicket of black armor that radiates negative energy like a beacon. The Lich King himself was vastly smaller in comparison to even average humanoids, but his own monstrous nature made up for his lack of size and physical power. Swinging his stave about he shrugs his shoulders then makes his way for a neighboring stump, which he points to with discuss and says, "Clean this mess up and make it suitable for me, Commander."

The titan nods and then reaches to pull up a young sapling from hits roots with a single palm, dusting the stump off with its leaves and then implanting the sapling nearby to shade his master. Baelstrom observes before looking to the stump with disgust before sitting with a sigh and saying, "That will have to do...I guess..." Yawning softly he looks around, unaware or even really caring if this was a trap on not; though, the summoning of him via his adopting daughter was quite a surprise. It rarely ever happens that she "wants" or "chooses" to speak to him, though he enjoys meeting her for the simple fact it reminds him of what he did to her mother...good times... Twirling his stave the Right Hand of the Emperor grows moderately impatient as Semira was suppose to already be here waiting on him.

From the dark portal more figures arrive; Mors-Gigas and three of them; which, are giant creatures (Description):
Class
Elite

Creature Type
Undead

Name
Mors-Gigas`

Height
Between Nine to Fifteen feet tall.

Weight
Between 1,500 to 15,000 pounds.

A monstrous creature crafted from the flesh of other monstrous
creatures, but created for one purpose and one purpose only-to be
master of death, serve the domain lords of multiple layers of Darkata
and the Emperor Vrax`Zil. With the power of the Emperor and the
craftsmanship of the Lich Overlord Baelstrom these elite soldiers were
molded using the skeletal structures of giants and trolls; though,
another head an arm was added, muscles of dead dragons tri-weaved to
increase the density of the Mors-Gigas`, their right arms grafted into
natural swords of dense bone and left arms ending in natural shields
made of muscle & bone. Another arm extends from their abdomens
charged with dark magic; though, vastly smaller than the other two
arms. Their exposed muscle is encompassed by reinforced steel riveted
deep into their bodies, covering almost their entire bodies, save for
seams of muscle here and there. Last but not least these terrifying
monsters possess great tarnished draconic wingedappendages on their
backs that are proportionate to whatever size they may be.

Spell-Like Abilities
Absorption, Aura of Terror[Constant], Blade of Blood, Consumptive
Field[Greater], Create Undead, Death Dragon

Power Source
Mors-Gigas` are sentient undead given sentience via the Emperors dark
power and pleasure only from war, death and carnage

and these creatures in trio stood as sentries over the drow, guarding and being ever vigilant.

The Path To War Empty Re: The Path To War

Post by Semira Wed Sep 30, 2015 3:20 pm

An awakening at the threshold of a simple path. A scarred spot on the ground where stood a tomb, knelt passively, a cold, frosted silhouette barely moved with a hunch but no sway. Ever firm as the night had grown cold, and colder still...

At the break in the essance between land-level and under-earth, the ground shook, heralding an unkind arrival. Scouters positioned to alert their leader of first signs of conduct, regardless of origion; were surprised to find the emblem, that even Semira still brandished, on those of the intruders. Speaking in spider-silk-smooth undercommon, a pair of archers crept from branch to alert the grounders and send word to the priestess. At such interval, they fanned out, numbering more than twenty by the time they came together at stone gateway. Splittting in half, they folded with the dark that came so naturally for them. Blending as if with the 'blood' of the forest. The ten who had gone into the cave dispersed amongst the catacombs.

Some several hours later, a pair of well-armed knights arrived to Semira's sides, speaking naught save for what their presance alerted. From prone, to awakening, the praying priestess summoned a force unlike that of the beloved goddess. But of another..... Her power seemed to swell as runes across her exposed forearms, and forehead gleamed momentarily. Subsiding in a slow, stinging way. Though it pained her to the extraction she willed herself to rise, unsteady at first; left hand knight stepped in for balance, only to be refused. Walking on ahead, the dark priestess tred the long way back unto a description, fitting of her surrogate father.
By noon hour the next day, the priestess arrived. With company... A pair of Templar Knights flanked by ten soldiers each. Among them were not exactly the likes of drow. Some soldiers appeared to be of the human inbred, immortal or other, not much is to be told by their design for armor is a magic all it's own. "I thought you'd never come." Said the slender, dark female, through a thin veil of black. Eyes of a violet muted by the sheer material acting as a veil. Her poise was deft, arrogance bred of both nature and his doing. She cast him a look of insubordination, daring.

The Path To War Empty Re: The Path To War

Post by ALIS-Ultonis Wed Sep 30, 2015 5:17 pm

The ALIS-Ultonis had been in the forest for weeks now. Networks of tunnels beneath the forest floor, while small outposts were built into the larger trees obscured by foliage. At the arrival of such things, it was only a matter of time before the Guerilla-Fighters of the Imperium saw what was happening. They did not attack immediately though, patience was one of their many tactical virtues, instead they hung back and watched from the trees, communicating with each other, and preparing to defend the territory if they needed too. "A very large creature has come into the forest, I think its an undead." said the nearest soldier into his comm, though the signal was encrypted on a unique channel. There was only one soldier watching at the moment, and he had activated his thermo-optic cloaking from his grav-harness to conceal himself in a camouflaging field which blended with the ambient spectrum's of energy and obscured and distorted light to the point appearing to simply be a natural part of the environment.

Under the cover of the canopy, Maura had scouted ahead of Baelstrom's arrival. As he had not expected the invitation, Maura had thought it best to be sure that it wasn't some sort of trap though he didn't seem to care. She moved quickly enough to, hopefully, avoid detection, returning not long after he, his undead commander, and the other creatures had arrived. She approached slowly, her cloak already soaked through by the rain though she didn't seem to pay it any mind as the leather armor she wore wasn't fazed. Lowering her hood as she approached Baelstrom, standing a bit taller than him though never daring to point it out to him. She had never feared much but him, she did as she had seen what he could do. "I am not sure if she is just taking precautions or has something planned but she has about two dozen soldiers accompanying her." She said, ignoring the hair that had fallen to stick to her face from the weight of being wet. "It may be wise to proceed with a bit of caution..."

The Path To War Empty Re: The Path To War

Baelstrom the foppish drow observed his adopted daughter as a whole, lofting his brow as his eyes fall upon the amulet about Semira's neck; which, brought a twisted grin to his façade. Chuckling darkly he gestures to the vampire and says in his usual suave, dark and sophisticated voice, "She has realized the truth it would see-how I decapitated her mother and left her body to be feasted upon while her father cuddled against said body part." Looking to the vampire he adds, "My dear Maura please go get..." In mid-sentence he begins to break loose in a manic cackling as the fleshy membrane of his sanity is temporarily pierced, but before he could fall off the stump from his laughter the Demi-Lich straightens himself. "Go get a few of your vampiric scouts and search the area. I have a feeling we're probably not alone," he says as he looks to his daughter and adds, "No... I do not feel any empathy for you and your pathetic excuse for a family. If I knew who are wear your father was I'd do the same for him and give you his head to cuddle with."

The three Mors-Gigas step forward with thunderous strides to stand before the militant drow group, than the Undead Commander stomps forward to act as a secondary wall of defense between the Underdark and his master. Rolling his shoulders Baelstrom eyes Semira and says, "I give you a chance to throw away that useless malcontent and join me. We could become unstoppable child. My power and your....whatever you have we could take over the Underdark, overthrow Lolth and become gods ourselves." Snickering some he runs his fingers through that lush main of silk white hair, grasping at his right eye as the psychotic nature of this drow comes to bear once more in the form of a malicious laugh that is short coming before he finishes with, "...or join your mother."

The Path To War Empty Re: The Path To War

stood unflinchingly as he addressed his former daughter, with a manner that was borderline cliche` even for him. The only evidence of her insubordination was the height of her chin, bold arrogance in definition. She watched his lapse in conversation and adjusted briefly to query, for herself, internally. That someone so mentally spoiled couldn't possibly be right enough to lead a kingdom, she had begun to wonder why he'd never taken a queen, and yet that thought was shrouded out by his meager suggestion of forces joined.

Though she had no idea still, to this day that her mother intended to sacrifice the unborn child- to a godess who's will and might existed predominantly in matriarchal society (of which she, Semira has severed all ties), provoking the indomitable spirit of something far more innate. "Although your offer inspires hope, the possibility that we might come to terms is so thin, I'm afraid the silk of spiders holds stronger." She offered, speaking in fluent and common tongue. Her voice was so close to her mothers, one of the knights could be seen glancing at her. "You know, as well as I do. Your insentive for theiving me was exactly this; to further your rein." She shall be nobodies puppet. (Even if her mother might have been controlling her beyond the grave....)

As for locating the remainder of Semira's army. There was enough time to distance and circumvent, enough distance between each for them to remain within hand signal range in the event of disaster. Equip with piwafwi cloak, many of her soldiers would remain unseen, unheard and otherwise undetected. Though there were not enough on the visible surface to potentially threaten the far more powerful death-lord, there had been enough to put a serious thorn in his side with the potential for harsh repercussion. Power level reverberating from within the harnessed energy of Semira left a temporal wall surrounding three feet of her person. Eying Baelstrom very carefully she remained with a calm composure and hands kept in front, one neatly and flat over top of the other. Held out from her body in what could be seen as formal custom. Draping sleeves cut and hemmed to a point, obsidian exterior with a bruised purple silk inside the garment.

Maura very nearly rolled her eyes as Baelstrom's train on thought had broken, though she didn't dare. He had never quite been sane, or anything close to it, but lately she had found it all the more amusing though she had made a quick example of anyone who had said such. She did have an image to uphold. And he had given her a great deal of power, so she wasn't about to give that up by doing anything to undermine his authority, regardless of whether or not she agreed with his orders and his leadership style. She was a very greedy creature, she would readily admit it too. Though she had already checked the area with her scouts, she gave a nod when ordered to do so. It was possible, though not likely, that they had missed something. Having brought two dozen or so of her vampire soldiers, plus half of that amount of her personal vanguard, the scouting began quickly though they likely wouldn't make any new discoveries unless someone made a mistake and revealed themselves.
