Author's Note: I am assembling all the files I could find stored in the old database. While we may never have a true history, we should always remember where we came from, and why we do what we do. Some of the files may contain corrupted data, and a good few of the files I wish existed had been wiped clean from the database. I feel that when we gain our numbers again, our children should be able to look back at where their parents came from. - Arcerion Vileur-Shuinsai

Date: Year 0.Month 0.Day 0
Log of: Researcher: Ailshyia Exarch
The Spear Station was a huge success. We avoided detection from our enemies and shifted as close to the prime realm as we could without experiencing atomic break down. My fellow scientists say that it's normal that the station has grown exponentially in size. We've sent out scouting teams to reestablish contact with the rest of the crew. Even so, the anomalies we're seeing are without a doubt odd to say the very least. Our food stores and the area which we grew from has increased in size by at least fifty times their previous measurements. We also appear to of found a realm with an artificial day and night cycle. Thank the creator for small favors. On top of that some of the older crew seem to of reverted physically to what they may of considered to be their prime. Maybe it's the fact that we're only mere steps away from our creator that has given us this ability.

Unfortunately all of our outer dimensional sensors appear to of stopped functioning. So we won't know how much time has passed when we do come back to our home realm. As much as I am loathe to admit it, some part of me does hope that the twelves plan succeeds. It would be a poor welcome home when this project finishes to find our previous civilization in ruins and in the hands of our enemies.

I may as well put down my thoughts on why I decided to join up with this project. I don't agree with the councils method. Making something that close to the Creator? Who are we to make a single being who could possibly challenge our creator? It's nigh on blasphemous. The Destroyers may know best when it comes to war, but they know NOTHING of creating life. My ex-husband who agreed to help that sick project, well I hope his creation doesn't come to bite him in the ass. But at the same time, it would serve him right if it did. Since we were deemed creators it is our right, no our purpose to act in our own creators image and spring forth a new form of life. Of course there were changes that had to be made. While they need to have a fighting chance, they also need to have the gene that creates a Core removed from them. This is so we have an advantage over them in case of a rebellion. Testing says it should be successful and they'll be able to create just as well as us, if only on a smaller scale.

Much to my displeasure though I was not selected as a suitable donor for the first batch to be made. That was given to the strongest and most fertile. Oh well, if all goes right with this first batch, maybe I'll get a little creature of my own one day. One has to wonder what a lack of Core will do to their physical make up. We've already postulated everything from near exact copies of us to monstrosities that may only be fit for war. Personally I hope they're like great big lizards.

Date Year 0 Month 0 Day 20
Log of: Guard Captain Aven Zewoge
We've finally reeestablished contact with all missing crew members. Not through physically finding them of course. Because that would be to damn easy. As far as our sensors are concerned the station went from being the size of a small city, to at least the size of one of the bigger gas giants. The tech guys say they can't be sure that the instruments will sometimes read a couple of different things. I just know I'm glad I got permission to bring my transport onto the station before we shifted. Its been helping immensely. And they said that an 8 person vehicle was obscene for a station this size. Hah!

So today after getting back up with the research team I learned that I'm one of the few first picks who can actually donate to the first batch. It's weird being the first that they wanted to take genetic material from. I thought they were going to have me go into a room and crank one out, but nope, Weird metal apparatus and a headset to stimulate my mind. I don't want the extractor but I asked the Doctor if I could keep the headset. She laughed and took it away. Maybe I'll be able to get it after the first batch is processed.

As far as actual guard duty, most of my team is set up acting like scare crows for the crop farms more or less. It seems the pens we kept our livestock in lost their walls when we 'expanded'. So now I'm fending off cattle and swine instead of firing at cosmic horrors. Oh well, at least these targets are less likely to devour me, core and all.

Date: Year 0 Month 0 Day 28
Log Of: Head Geneticist Helyanwe Logatus
Well it only took a month to get our samples. I wish we'd done this before the shift, but at the same time the samples may of been tampered with at the least. At the most we may of had a clone incident. I really do not want to think about two Aven's walking around, the man is the embodiment of male machismo if there ever was one. He even had the gall to ask me for the Neural Bridge when we finished with his sample.

Jokes on him, I shared the video of him in the chair convulsing with the other geneticists. Even Ailshyia has taken to giving him stupid wide mouthed looks when they cross paths. Scientists 1 Grunts 0.

We've prepped everything now, tests are what was to be expected. We should begin culturing within two days time if all goes according to plan. We still have no idea what these creatures will look like. There's actually a small pool being formed amongst the group to see what we'll get. The biggest pool just says 'dead baby'. Do they really have that little trust in my skill? I personally expect that they'll look like us, after all that's what genetics do core or no core. The real question is whether or not they can be viable weapons. It may take years to find out.

Which raises another question. If they aren't viable weapons, what do we do with them? If the ethics of murder were a concern then I signed up for the wrong job. I'll do what must be done. My people may depend on it. I only hope my daughter is safe back home, and that she can one day forgive her mother for leaving.
