For The holidays.

Post by War Torn on Sun Jan 04, 2015 4:29 pm

{This and That on the Mid Day.}

Angelo:

As the title suggests, the time itself was somewhere between 5:30-6:00PM, Nexxian Time. The sun was still partially up but its shadow was forming over a good chunk of Nexxian City, while some locations where in between. The current location referred to was in the between area, a Inn/Bar known as 'Micks Tavern' that was about three and a half stories tall, and wide, very wide. This became evident as one stepped into the Tavern itself, cleared away of its usual tables within the center, the space allowed from the wooden block that was its center easily able to fit a small crowds worth of people. This, the sign that read 'Happy Holidays!' in big blue letters, the smells of various cooked and still being cooked foods were the first thing that'd assail the senses of one who entered.

To the right side of the tavern, with a sign that said 'Hard Liquor, free of charge!' with an arrow pointing down (and the slightly grouchy but none the less astute mustache sporting bar owner known as Mick) was the bar top, where the bar stools, cleaned and shined to perfection waited to be occupied and the bar owner himself waited for drink requests. To the left was most of everything else.Three very long tables sat there, the first table being devoted to silverware, plates, napkins and cups, and little orderbs/appetizers (a few casseroles, some noodle dishes, bean based things, salads, various fried/unfried potato dishes, a few soups, and finally a few small choice meats, all of them, including every dish after, labled for convenience sake), the second was inhabited by main course sort of dishes (three big ones to be exact, the first being a large hunk of of fried white meat that had what looked like oversized fried lizard feet circling the play, the tag 'Desert Dragon' being that course, the second being a cut into two half baked half fried oversized turkey of sorts, with various wings and legs surrounding it as well, the tag reading 'Confederate Fowl' right below it, and lastly a very round and wide meaty yellow colored fish of sorts, surrounded by small baked/boiled mollusks/crustacians for all to take, the tag reading 'Frell Troute, 'curtsy of Frell Dockyards' below that) and lastly was a currently empty desert table as the organizers of this getogether and the person holding it felt it best to bake them at the second to last moment, to make them as fresh as the other foodstuffs. The last minor detail of all that was also at the very end of it all, were a a shiney metal square of steel sat and was noticeably very cold and if one were to look they'd see the sign 'Beer and Light Liquor' above it as well as a plethora of ice blocks with holes in them carrying and cooling assortments of beers and alcohol ready to be taken and replaced. All these tables and the like were attended to by obviously hard worked but generally jolly (mostly clad in 'professional' white) workers who moved to and through to maintain and help serve things when needed.

As noted before most of the center of the large Tavern/Inn was bare, leaving room to walk, but one such sectiong wasnt. The very 'top' of it (meaning the opposite end of the entrance) was inhabited by ten or so rounded six seated tables each holding comfy leaver seats and in the center a glass blue or white or green or red candle, for those who wanted to sit down and just enjoy a general view of things and of course relax, these separated into two sections while in the middle there was a piano of sorts, waiting to be used by anywho could use such an instrument. On the left side also, was a medium sized square table with the word 'Gifts!' above it, the whole table being encompassed by various sized boxes (some with bows, some with not) of various bright colors and the like, sitting patiently for the right moment to be grabbed. Lastly on the far end of the right side was a music sort of system, for those who didnt just want the piano played and had a particular want for certain music.

They very atmosphere was warm, inviting, and despite the hustle of the workers abound (and slight echoing noisiness in the kitchen) everything also had a relaxed smooth mood about it. The last little piece of it all however, was in the one who had set it all up, one Angelo Aaron Zerephan the first, esquire. He was garbed in the most well made shined to perfect black leather shoes and dress socks, black dress pants, a white button up dress shirt, and above the shirt was a very tidy black colored sports coat of sorts, the front end being normal while the back was oddly extended, a red tie (as much as he didnt like them) tugged around his neck, and a pair of white Micky Mouse gloves adorned his hand. It was obvious he was trying to look the part of 'nice looking' as well as he could, but that was left up to all who saw him. Angelo so far was the only person inhabiting the place, and was calmly pacing here and there, occasionally exchanging a jest or offering a helping hand with the workers strung about the Inn, eyes shifting to the door of the place every so often, trying not to but his gaze was very very expectant. Eventually he found himself standing within the center of the inn, hands clapping together, a bright large smile on his face.

Let those who were invited, or wanted to come, come!

(Note: All welcome here, assume if the people directly invited didnt mention the get together in passing, that word was heard of it, and in general, if you decide to partake, have fun! Most if not all social and 'conflict' is allowed, dont be shy and dont hesitate to post at your leisure!)

The holidays had been a weird time of year for him for quite a while now. Living on your own and actively avoiding your own family has a tendency to make the holidays feel just a little less special then they should. Sune may not of been any specific faith, but he also wasn't stupid to the intention behind a holiday party. Another year of life and so on. Saying hey we made it this far and struggling on, also there were presents. That was his favorite part. While last year he had been dumb struck by everything about a gift exchange like this, this year he was prepared. It also helped that one of his family members finally mentioned the fact that he had his own trust fund that Pops had been putting money in for quite a while. So the white haired prince had decided to go all out this year, just trying to make a small dent in the fortune he didn't even know he had until a few weeks ago.

He slammed the door to bar/in with enough force to make a very obvious clatter to draw everyone's attention to him. The prince was dressed to kill, with a suit jacket replacing his usual vest, hair and beard trimmed immaculately, shoes cleaned and pants pressed. However he had a look in his eyes that spoke of ill intentions when he saw Angelo. Swiftly he reached under his coat, a motion that was familiar to him as he pulled a pistol from the shoulder grip in a practiced motion. He pointed the barrel at Angelo, and spoke.

"Angelo! Happy fuckin' holidays!". Then he pulled the trigger on his pistol. A steady stream of water shot out and landed as a puddle five or so feet from Angelo's feet. He frowned looking at that and put the water pistol back in its holster. Striding over to Angelo he'd throw an arm around the confederates shoulder. "See normally I'd show up late but you know how tense our friends can be. I may if ended up shot for real.". He turned his head towards the bartender Mick as he spoke loudly next.

"Hey Mick! Get me a lager, one of the seasonal if you still got any.". He smiled a bit and turned back to Angelo, looking over his clean cut look. Shrugging a bit though, it wasn't for him to judge, and this was a celebration no need to bring up any bad feelings until the drinks had been passed out.

"Okay So Angelo, what is it that the big jolly fat man that gives out presents says this time of year?". The first of many holiday surprises rested upon his response to that one question.

(I probably should of thrown this out there: I was actually gonna wait for a few posts each posting 'round' so that way, any people that wanted to be involved could enter/post on whim. If that doesnt occur every so often, I will just normally post. Just thought I'd alert/say so.)
