Vraenea: Capital City Empty Vraenea: Capital City

Post by Xin Mon Sep 05, 2016 4:42 pm

Throngs of Spires lined the city walls like snow capped mountain peaks of bleached white stone reaching for the sky, which covered in an ever present wisp of steam which formed thick clouds that covered the city. A series of scaffolding and catwalks reaching outward allowing the various Sky ships to dock, loading and unloading cargo as the city bustled with life.  The capital itself was sectioned off into three tiers each with its own walls and gates almost as if each were a separate walled city. The lowermost, filled with stone houses crammed together forming narrow alleyway and streets which was broken occasionally by a canal which ran north to south from the eastern portion of the town penetrating all three-tiers. Lined along the canal were various stalls and bazaars allowing for ease of trade, before the water spilled naturally into a nearby river that snaked across the land and emptied into the sea.

The buildings formed a labyrinth of alleys and cobbled streets which lead throughout the city. Though the main road lead straight as an arrow from the southern gate, which was protected by a large iron studded doors and three portcullises, which were lowered in times of war though for now they were left perpetually opened allowing free travel to and from the city. The main road traveled through even the second tier and the palace itself [which was barred to the public]. Homes and business alike were built upward stacked upon themselves with various bridges and Docking Statoins so that smaller transport vessels may ferry passengers from one building to the next.

The Grand Cathedral modeled in gothic-style a series of towers, flying buttresses, and spikes could have been seen from the main gate loomed over the surrounding buildings like a sentinel. Each spike as is a guard standing at attention wielding a long spear, guarding, protecting large arches and narrow bridges. Adorned with windows of stained glass which stood taller than some of the buildings of the lower tier.

The middle tier, was as expansive as the lower though buildings were more sparse and the space more open, filled with the keeps of the nobles each build as impressive as the next and almost rivaled the cathedral in grandeur, seemingly castles of their own tract of land of gardens and freshly manicured grass and ornate sculptors as if each were in a race to outdo their neighbor a show of power and wealth. Each with their own guards-house and men they employed to patrol their walls. A large square of tiled stone and fountains was opened to the public, filled with stalls of finery and other goods not found in the bazaars below. Here large stores could be found of more esteemed craftsman who preferred their own buildings rather than sharing space with their neighbors, beyond the square the road lead towards the palace gates—and beyond the palace itself.

''Come, one and all. Come large, come small. Children, Adults, human or non, Gather! As curiosity awaits you. Crafty, crooked, wicked or rich? A potion might help, if your caught in a snitch! Haggard, jiggered or just plain unwise. A spell book, to cure your qualms. Find them all, at the Dark gypsy art!'' The Gypsy laughed, throwing his head back as he took a breath with a grin. A figure, curiously dressed in large black cloak. Face dark, hidden within the plush fabric of the clock, with a hint of a wry white smile. Somewhat dainty looking hands, nails manicured with red flashed out of large cloak sleeves as he moved. The fellow gypsy stood out amongst his own peers. Neighbouring stalls, bleak in comparison. No one in the community could do pageantry like Silvestine. He longed for these festivities, the upper city did them so well. They drew so many people to interest, with highly strung decorations, food, music, the works! Of course it excited him. It was his chance to meet the outsiders. And quite possibly once of his only chances, to escape the community in which enslaved him for so long.

A hollow sigh left the girls lips as she made her way towards the festivities that filled the air with beautiful music and the enticing smell of food that earned a rumble from Dusks stomach. She had skipped her lunch to make space for what ever foreign delicacies would be served. Her pale cream and white dress hugged her body tightly and her corset framed her small waist well. Her golden hair was tied back into a thin braid that reached all the way down to her hips and swayed slightly with each step she too, her heels peeking out slightly from the hem of her dress with each step. Her face was lightly powdered to cover any blemishes and the few faint scars she had dotting her cheeks which were coated in a small amount of blush. Her eyes were lined as well. She had to look her finest for the sake of her family name and to make a good impression to what ever people came her way. Admittedly she hated the make up with a burning passion and had already been scolded several times about trying to wipe it off. She lifted her hand once more but the last tongue lashing still rang in her ear and she simply pushed the winged crown back instead. "Heavens I'm famished." She muttered to herself as she passed by the first few stalls of the fair. Countless voices rang out advertising everything under the sun but one caught her ear over the others. Something relating to magic? Now that was something she was interested in.

She grabbed her skirt by the sides and lifted it slightly as she jogged to the gypsy peddling his wares "Excuse me?" Her small voice cried out. " I heard you are selling magical items and I was interested." She cleared her throat and stepped closer to the mysterious man. "What is it that you are selling?"

Noise had filled the air as the common manspawn bustled about, shouting, laughing, and simply movement in the general area. Whether it be via horse, cart, or foot, the general area was loud. To add to the senses were the various scents from the foulness of certain Manspawn, to lesser creatures, and alike; to sweeter scents, some of the scents of the upper class members, the open fires for cooking, and the smoked meats. The latter, itched at the mind of the dragon known as Mineczka. With a quick shake of her head and a simple glance reminded why she was here.

'Right, I am tasked to protect Lady Dusk.'

Reaffirming to her thoughts, Mineczka walked, flanking Lady Dusk's right side. Though one may ask, 'Why is a Dragon protecting a mere human?' T'was something even her own kind had asked the small dragon-girl. Though her answer always was: "Because they're not as lesser as you may believe them to be." Brushing that thought aside as well, with amber eyes gazing at everything even briefly, she could know that no harm would come of Lady Dusk, at least, not while there was a hidden dragon around. Though she did hear a few words that cut through the clutter of sound,

"Heavens I'm Famished."

T'was Lady Dusk's voice, through the long wait, one could understand that she would be famished, as it seemed to take quite the time just to have prepared for such an event. Mineczka swiftly leaned forward, quiet words directed to Dusk's ear, as it was normal to keep a good image, "Would you like for me to make accommodations for a meal, M'lady?" The dragon asked, while Dusk had stepped towards a strange man, whom was supposedly selling magical items. With a gentle smile, she stood with Dusk, though magic and her kind ended poorly, she was rather intrigued as to what all was there. Though she let Dusk do all the talking for her in this circumstance, as it would be impolite to jump into the conversation now.

Siegfried had recently been patrolling the  square making sure that the patrols were in place and attending to their duties—his own were to oversee the City Guard and make sure that nothing amiss were to happen on this day. The clamor of the market filled the air, with the buzz  of people  foots steps against the tiled ground, the ticking of water as well as the fumes of various meats being roasted over an open  flame. Various stalls had been erected by various vendors, some  for games while others dealt  out street  food which could be carried comfortable and eaten whilst one walked about.—Much of the clothing was in  honor of the upcoming  harvest with colors of  autumn, reds, oranges, and yellows. The symbol of the sun or rain. Though for most of the nobles it was merely a shows, a chance to mingle with others and show off their wealth and splendor to the commons in person. Various groups traveled flanked by a couple of their own personal guard, lined in silks and jewels each would have been looking for a chance  to speak with the princess with proposals  of their own political gain. Though his onyx gaze kept possible suitors at bay.

He was walking up behind the Lady Dusk now, after all his other duties were attended to, saboton clicking noisily against the tiled ground to announce his presence. First spotting her companion, Mineczka, then the Gypsy standing behind the stall. He was dressed simply this eve in light of the festivities donning a pair of plated grieves over black linen, a white surcoat with the emblem of the  kingdom draped across his thighs and plated gauntlets. In place of his chest plate was simple leather and a long-straight sword dangled over his right hip.

“M’lady.” He called out to her in an almost demanding tone as she approached the stall to inspect the gypsy’s wears. He waited until the woman turned to acknowledge his presence before offering a slight bow which was both regal and respectful for one of his station. He moved forward now, standing before her and Silvestine preventing her from venturing any closer. [Though if she had attempted to reach for any of the goods he would have caught her hand.]  Silvestine was met with a suspicious stare, though it was just as likely that anyone the princess approached was met with that same gaze. Be it sorcery or food, as if all might be cursed  or poisoned. The Knight  was too overly  cautious for his own good and had been told so on  many occasions though none the less that did not deter him. “I would caution against trifling with such items, M’lady. I trust not.” He studied the items on display before, looking towards Silvestine once more. “What have we here, lad?”

A surprised expression took upon the gypsy's face with pure glee as Lady Dusk was set within his sights. Royalty. Of course. Living within the lap of luxury, from silver spoon of which they bread and revelled within. His eyes examined the women who approached his stall, a flash of white across the darkness of his cloaked face. This one was different. She was young, dainty. Seemingly dough eyed to the world. Her dress elegant and dainty, Silvestine could only dream to do such fine needle word for women like these.
''My most humble welcome your grace.'' It was with that he bowed within her presence. Although he may not of liked the stigma's surrounding those with virtue, he at least knew how to act when present. Shifted eyes glanced toward Mineczka. A accomplice as such, perhaps a body guard. He didn't know. ''And, greetings to you too.'' He indicated with a nod before turning his attentions back toward the fair mistress. ''Ah, you've fine taste Miss.'' Those white teeth would appear again, glowing in a cheshire smile as his hand tapped gently across a stack of spell books. ''I sell Elixirs to the left, deemed to cure any down, or enchant a special someone in your life. I've got something for everything. Spell books and a few old time recipe books thrown in for fun hm? If you so fancy. Fortune telling, can also be done.'' Speaking in small rhymes was whimsical to him for a sales pitch.

He had not nearly finished his speech before being interrupted by Knight patrol. These men. Always hovering, always suspicious of our kind. He stared up with a sigh at Siegfried, although those red hues couldn't be seen within the darkness that shadowed him. With a small shake of his head he spoke. ''Trust too. Good sir.'' He said, although a little bitterly. ''I sell nothing harmful to the Lady. I wouldn't dare show such disrespect to someone of such high dignity.''
Red nails tapped upon the top spell book, leather bound and cracked. It was enchanting to look at. What stories it must tell, how many others before have picked up such a powerful book with fear and ever binding love. And how many a soul the book managed to destroy.

With that, he picked the book and brought it close toward his covered face, swiftly blowing, as the gust propelled dust within the knights direction. Silvestine chuckled as he put the book back down. ''I mean no harm here, for I am unlike my fellow community men. Perhaps yourself would be interested in a spell or two? Or maybe, I could tempt a fortune for you? Fine jewels! A pendant is a must! It can be enchanted, for a one time cost.''

Post by Lady Dusk Tue Sep 06, 2016 11:29 am

Dusk realized she had been quite rude to ignore her friends request and held up a finger to the gypsy "A moment please." She requested with a small smile. She leaned towards Mineczka and gave her a nod "That would be simply wonderful, I am most gracious for the offer." She paused and smelled the air with short shallow breathes, smiling ear to ear. "Could you please fetch some food for me? With all the smells in the air I can not deny my appetite for much longer!" She turned her hips slightly as her nimble fingers reached down into a small leather pouch on her hip, her palms hiding the contents. She quickly took out five gold coins and gave it to her companion "Here," she said placing each coin in her friends palm gently to keep them from rattling and revealing just how much money she had. She may be royalty but she knew how some merchants would bump up their prices if they knew you had the coin and was in no mood to be played. "Get something for yourself as well." She gave a small nod and turned back to the man and looked down at the book, entranced by it's appearance. "This is far different than the magics I know." She admitted looking the man in his eyes. Once he gave his bow she curtsied slightly in return "It's a pleasure to meet thee. May I have your name?" she asked feeling it improper to call him merchant for much longer.

The spells she was taught as a child were unique but far from harmful and her hand slowly reached out to touch it but heard a familiar voice call for her. She visibly jumped, feeling her heart skip a beat with worry over why she was called. A small hand was placed over her heart and she looked towards Siegfried . "Oh, hello dear." She purred happy to see another friend looking after her. "'Tis nothing to worry over. I have experience with the arcane, I will not get myself in trouble." She Started to take a step forward but was blocked by his body and simply looked over his shoulder down at the book, curiosity drawing her in, making her want to thumb through the aged pages herself.

Noting the coins, five sparkling Gold coins, something that isn't even noteworthy to most dragons, Mineczka nodded hearing Dusk's orders, as she bowed her head and walked away, intermixed with her fingers and all was one of the coins, while she stored the rest in the pouch at her hip. It was normal that she stored her coinage in there, and while she was not wealthy in the slightest, the Dragon was not poor either. As she walked, she almost continuously rubbed her middle finger over the intricate patterns that surrounded the bust of the current Queen. Despite the coin being rather interesting, Mineczka almost wished to part with the blasted thing, as Dragons are notoriously bad at sharing anything.

After a long twenty feet, Mineczka was at a nearby food stall, which sold meats smoked over grapevine. The aroma was extravagant to the dragon, as she could smell the robust flavouring from the beef that mixed well with the grapevine's more gentle and especially delicate scent. Then one could factor in the seasoning used, which added to the robust scent without overpowering the noticeable delicate flavour, it was an overwhelming scent that was nearly irresistible, though the smoke was less than pleasant at some points, a trade off of using Grapevine. The wait was short, or as it seemed as half the wait was cut into by the blissful aroma. Yet, her eyes hadn't left Lady Dusk, even as she watched Sigfried basically show her up, which annoyed the Dragon, a fledgling human showing up a Dragon. Brilliant.

Placing three of the golden coins down Minna smiled to the attendant, "Five smoked beef strips please~!" her voice seemed a bit child-like, which was understandable for how excited she was. After another couple minutes she began to return to Dusk with the food and leftover change. As she approached she could hear Dusk talking to Sigfried, whom had moved himself between the vendor's wares and Dusk. With a sigh Mineczka approached Sigfried, her voice with displeasure at the man, whom had decided to do her job, "Excuse me, but M'lady wishes to see this man's wares. Whilist I understand your concerns, I'll take care of the matter from here." yet her gaze turned to Dusk, and softened up as a hand reached forward holding one of the beef strips. Which was rather large and conveniently on a stick, she smiled gently with her words,

"Here you go M'lady. Your food as requested."

Post by Galvery Tue Sep 06, 2016 8:04 pm

In the depths of space, the eruptions of plasmic torpedoes echoed in the vastness with plumes of unnatural as they exploded on meteorites in a celestial belt of space rock. The source of said rockets was in hot pursuit of a smaller less impressive ship, which the offender was a gigantic Elementian Destroyer that stretched nearly a thousand feet in length that was a smooth vessel of some unknown robust metal. The war-ship was following a more corvette style ship, which was less impressive in size being only about fifty to sixty feet in length and was also made from some unknown metal, but seemed more like stone. The Morph was the significant name of the vessel being chased and in it none other than the blonde spiky haired half elf Galvery, whom was obviously in a panic. Smacking the control panel repeatedly he says with grim enthusiasm, “This is it Morph.” Looking at the front monitor he watches as the giant war mongering vessel destroys meteor after meteor to get closer to the ship, which the entity itself replies back, “Don’t freak out flesh bag. We have options. Uhm…”

Again another rock is destroyed and this time it was close enough to where the blast rocked the Morph, which knocked Galvery out of his chair and is sent skidding across the room into the bulkhead. Gah! He cries out as his skull clinks against the metal, but thankfully he is one tough customer, even without extensive combat experience. Left dazed he’d hear the entity cry out saying, “Activate the Gate-Drive! Hurry!” His vision was blurred but he knew where the activation keys were and he’d begin crawling towards the control panel till he could finally stand, which by this point the Elementians were upon Galvery and his ship. A tractor-beam was exerted upon the vessel, but before they could grab and reel him in the lad at the last second entered in a sequence of keys that activated the Drive. The ship juts forward into hyperspace just avoiding the beam, then the ship exerts a powerful disruption of magical energy in its trajectory that immediately opens some kind of wormhole. The portal is disrupted by the plasma trail left by the Morph when it entered it, which leaves little trace of where he might of went.

Galvery had no time to enter a particular location and so had entered a random sequence, appearing suddenly in the air space of the Vraenea and with the mixture of atmospheric gasses as well other elements made the incoming very harsh for the Morph. Being beaten around and caught on fire the ship comes in for a crash landing just outside the capital cities’ walls. The young half-breed was still alive an awake in the ship and activated the emergency landing procedure in time before the crash could get real nasty. Reverse thrusters activated and then a trio of parachutes burst from the rear, which slows the vessel enough to were total damage wouldn’t occur but he would still hit hard. The Morph hits so hard it sends a shockwave through the ground that could be felt for yards if not nearly a mile away in rippling strides, burying its nose into the ground as the ship tears through the earth till it stops leaving a trail of foliage destruction behind it.

After some time, the main emergency cockpit hatch opened and out came the young lad whom was covered in head to toe with wounds of shrapnel metal and glass, plus potential broken ribs and right arm that hung at his side. Blood coursing down his face in a light heave he’d turn to head towards the city he had seen before the crash in a desperate trudge of life.

Vraenea: Capital City Empty Re: Vraenea: Capital City

Post by Xin Tue Sep 06, 2016 10:13 pm

Silvestine’s words  did little to quell the Knight’s  suspicions    if anything they merely stoked the flame after all the Gypsy seemed well spoken, though they usually were . And what man that wished to do harm would admit to doing so? Those same words were probably spoken to a lot of men right  before drawing a knife from their back. His gaze narrowed slightly, observing the man carefully though he had not really  done  anything  to deserve his scrutiny, Dusk’s words drew his attention back and those black eyes fell upon  her once more. There  was no use in telling her ‘No,’ it would likely only tempt her more so. Lips  gave a slight twitch as he followed the line from Dusk’s eyes to the tome which the Gypsy’ handled. Of  course the thought of using the man’s service for himself did cross his mind if only to keep the princess from doing so.

“See something you fancy?”  he questioned—before shaking his heads at the Gypsy’s words , uninterested in what the soothsayer had to say in regards to his future, believing his fate was forged by his own  sword. “I must decline. Though I will employ your services if it pleases the lady.” He then reached for his own purse. Knowing full well that she likely had the coin to pay it herself [though he often spoiled her] emptying the contents of the pouch upon the counter, five golden coins trickled forth like droplets of water into a neat pile.

The Knight paused as the dragon, Mineczka, returned and he turned slowly to greet her. “You must be the one assigned to look after our lady.” A fine job she had done of it. His voice was calm and matter-of-fact, looking the girl over briefly before offering a slight bow of his head, which could easily have been mistaken for a nod. Offering in an apologetic tone. “Pardon me. I do not mean to overstep. The Lady was left unattended. I merely performed my duty as member of the city-guard.” Despite being captain and a highborn at that. A canny smile stretched across his lips. “I will leave her in your charge.” With that, he offered Dusk one final bow- deeper this time before he turned to leave. When something caught at the corner of his eye.

_ _ _ _ _ _

Galvery

The walls  was alight with lanterns as voices  rang  from the ramparts the first to spot the foreign object cried out before rushing to ring one of the bells. Though it was difficult to see through the wall of steam which blanketed the sky. The tail flames of atmospheric pressure lit  up the distant sky, and those that  had seen it might have assumed that they  were being attacked. Though soon the ground began to shake from the  impact which caused some of the guards to  lose their footing an clatter in a heap of their own  armor  though most had steadied themselves  against the stone  walls. And those quicker  to recover rushed towards the gate-house to report to the next in command . Though the guard had already emerged from the wicker-gate, dressed in his standard suit. He beckoned a few of the guards for  horses  and soon they road out to meet this foreign  entity  once they dust had settled, though they approach cautiously, unsure of what they might find .
They ship itself would have  plowed through a nearby field destroying  crops and marring the earth. The Knights were the first to arrive on the scene bemused.

“Look to be a Sky Ship of some kind ,sir.” One of the guards spoke what the others had  been thinking.

“Bring a medic team and a stretcher…” the  commander ordered and one of the riders rode off to complete  the task. They would have spotted the man  now, making his way towards the city gates  and from the look of things it was not a pretty  sight. “You two, check the ship for other survivors.” He called out to the remaining guards who rode on a head as he moved to greet the stranger, unceremoniously dismounting his horse as he hastened to greet the man. “Steady there..” he began unsure of what to make of the site. “Help is on the way, you seem in no condition to walk.” He was rather unsure of what to say as it looked like the male should not have been able to move at all.

Vraenea: Capital City Empty Re: Vraenea: Capital City

Post by Silvestine Wed Sep 07, 2016 8:45 am

''Of course madam.'' He nodded at the finger before her attention returned to him. With a swift hand movement he pulled down his large hood upon his cloak and un fastened. It sitting more like a fancy silk long coat than a cloak. Revealed clothes underneath shown a short long sleeved black tee, chain hanging that framed his slender yet scultped figure, tight black pants and large black chunky boots. He had a fair complexation with pretty features. His eyes, glistening with mixes of blood and ruby hues. Blonde hair, neatly pinned back for smartness, although if it was left to be untied it would have trailed all the way down the mans back. Noticeably bunny ears sat atop the mans head in place of regular ears. Tilting forward he grinned that cheshire smile and dropped an ear. ''Silvestine's the name, honour to have met your acquaintance, madam.''
Tapping those distinctive red nails upon the front of the spell book he smiled toward the fair lady before looking back to the knight. Grinning as the coins trickled out onto the surface. ''Many thanks for your serivce, good sir.'' He chuckled and slid the book in the direction of the lady. ''M'lady. All yours. Please enjoy and I warn you to be careful.'' He patted the lady's hand twice before placing both hands back on the surface. Looking toward Miceczka. ''Watch over her with the book.'' he chuckled in a somewhat playful tone.

He paused for a moment as his ears heightened, listening intensely before bells started ringing. Commotion, lanterns, the knight leaving? What on earth was going on. Silvestine looked around, noting the sky filling with a thick fog like steam. Something wasn't quite right. ''Madam, I'd suggest you find somewhere to shelter.. Something is astir here..'' He swallowed, moving around to the front of his stand, beginning to make a move in the direction of the commotion. Being curious was an unfortunate part of his nature.

Vraenea: Capital City Empty Re: Vraenea: Capital City

Post by Lady Dusk Wed Sep 07, 2016 12:13 pm

Dusk shot small glances to her attendant as she went to fetch her some food. She knew her friend was more than capable of defending herself but the princess couldn't help but worry on occasion. Slowly her thoughts wandered to the contents of the book, wondering why she needed to be warned about its contents. Was the magic inside inherently evil or lethal? The knights question drew her out of her thoughts. "Yes I do. " her small voice replied, her mouth curled into a gentle smile. She gave a nod to the knight as her fingers ran close to the gypsies, taking in the rough texture of the cover. As she was about to ask the price the gentle noises of metal hitting metal made her retract her fingers, expecting another lecture. She did appreciate his attentiveness but at the same time she wanted to desperately prove she was just not some useless pretty face feasting from the lap of luxury she was born into. "Oh dear you don't have to pay for me!" She protested as the coins hit the table but silenced her self and accepted the kind gesture. "Thank you for the gift. Minna! Thank you as well." She said taking one of the sticks and curling two of her fingers around it.

"Must you be off?" The girl asked her faithful knight, for they had just reunited and she did wish to speak to him. For him to run off so quickly meant something important was happening. "Well if you must please take care and stay safe!" she cried out after him before raising the meat to her lips and taking a small cautious bite. The wonderful flavor filled her mouth and she let out a satisfied grunt. " Minna this is delicious! Good tastes as always I see." She complimented her friend sincerely and took small bite after bite making sure to take time to enjoy the flavor but the sudden sounds of commotion and bells made her worry "Something is amiss." She replied to the gypsy "Minna find the nearest officer of the guard. We need to keep everyone calm, the last thing we need is a mass panic" She whispered to her friend to send her off.

Vraenea: Capital City Empty Re: Vraenea: Capital City

Post by Mineczka Fri Sep 09, 2016 10:57 am

As Dusk took the food, Mineczka nodded to the knight, though her gaze turned to the gypsy, his cloak had revealed a rather thin figure compared to the more voluptuous frame. Under the hood revealed blonde hair, and from the way it looked, it was long but kept up to around his head. Sharing the blonde hair and fair complexion were two noteworthy ears, that of a rabbit as one would recall. Though two factors set off something in her, the crimson eyes he had, and the Cheshire-like grin over his face. Mineczka may not be the eldest dragon ever, but she knew the mischievous smile that of the Cheshire cat. Her trust of the man was that of how well one could trust a net to hold water. Her pupils narrowed into a more draconic slit as she approached the man and his book Dusk wished to read.

The dragons were known to possess a great resistance to magic, as it was from their blood that magic was born-- supposedly. To be honest, that was the best way Mineczka's parents explained the occurrence of magic and the lapse and decline of the dragons, as the humans and alike had slain those whom came to harm them, and somehow took the blood of the dragons to create the magic they saw. While supposedly it both wasn't right or wrong, as it was the best way even the mighty dragons could even imagine magic for humans. This book raised Mineczka's suspicions as it just seemed offsetting to her, books of magic tended to be... Unsafe.

As she walked forward, a sudden and residing sound of an explosion from what one could guess was an airship. With the guards rushing around like chickens with their heads cut off, along with the clamour of the people in just the area, the steam-like smoke rising from the supposed explosion, and the bells ringing endlessly. Mineczka shook her head as Dusk whispered into her ear "I'm afraid I cannot do that, M'lady, as my first job is to protect you. While I understand your concern, I cannot leave your side." her words were swift as she kept her gaze elsewhere, her pupils remained draconic, it was apparent that Mineczka was ready for anything to occur, though her voice returned another idea for Lady Dusk, "M'lady, if I may suggest, your presence can calm them, as you are the Queen's sister and just calm people in your presence. If needbe, I'll change to protect you better from what may incur as we calm the people."

Now all Mineczka could do is wait for what Dusk wanted to do....

Post by Galvery Fri Sep 09, 2016 3:07 pm

The young lad observed as the group of guards came towards him, which Galvery by this time had already walked more than half the way there. As the man began to ask him if he was alright the half-blood simply stared at him and says, ''Hide...Hide me. ..'' Suddenly the Elementian would fall forward unconscious and when he struck the ground, blood spurted from his mouth as if the impact had forcibly caused him to regurgitate it. With his injuries any normal individual would most likely be unable to walk even remotely as far as he did if even move, which hinted to the others that he was definitely inhuman himself. In the meantime as the other knights/guards approached the Morph it begins to power up once more even with the hull cracked, which then once the power has returned a voice escapes the spaceship saying, ''I am in need of repair as does my pilot. I will now be powering down to conserve my strength for the procedures.'' The ship as spoken then immediately shuts down and then entity enters some kind of rest mode to cope.

[Outer Gates]

The guard blinked slightly at the male’s words ’Hide me.’ though no sooner had the male spoke did he fall in a heap of his own blood with a solemn nod, the guard would have moved at once to catch the man, if not attempt to lessen the impact and rolling the man  over onto his back so that he could inspect his wounds, apply pressure where needed  and await for help. It was not long now until the initial guard had returned with a medic and a cart in tow the wheels creaking softly as it turned along the shallow ruts. The doctor quickly dismounted from his own stead before rushing towards Galvery’s  side. The medic tended to  whatever immediate wounds that needed tending to, bandaging what could be  bandaged.

“Help  me get him onto the cart.” The physician ordered and the two guards complied, though the commander chose to keep his words to himself though with an apprehensive gaze he looked skyward. If the male needed hiding it was likely that whatever was after him was not far behind. He could after all be a fugitive for all he knew though enough about that for now. Durstain, next in command in the captains absences took charge of the situation. Helping them load Galvery onto the stretcher and again onto the cart while issuing his orders.

“You.” He pointed to the man  who had originally been sent to fetch the doctor, “I want you to write a full report of this, take  stock of all damages to the field as well  as the ship. Send one of them to check on the farmer who owns this farm and make sure they’re all right and everyone is calm. Make sure that no one comes near that ship—it could be unstable. See to the fires and make sure they do not spread.”

The guards in attendance replied with a prompt. “SIR” before setting off to fulfill their tasks.  He mounted his horse once more riding back with the cart, which ferried the outsider the rest of the distance to the gatehouse. Once they arrived back at the gate-house his commands came in full-force. “Take him to the sick-bay, do what you can. I am to be notified the moment he regains consciousness. Send word to Captain Siegfried.” He moved from one man to the  next and they fell into-line to complete their orders  as hastily as they could afford.

_ _ _ _ _ _ _
[Upper-City Festival]

Siegfried remained bowed for a moment before straightening himself offering the Lady Dusk, one final nod before trading across the plaza towards the gate, they would have time to speak later if she so wished it. Instead he moved across the courtyard, yet there almost seemed to be no urgency within his pace if he was calm his men were as well almost as if they were a reflection of his emotions. A hand patted one of the guards on the shoulder, who shot up in attention sharp as an arrow before relaxing his shoulders some with a soft chuckle. It was obvious that something was going on outside the main-gates even from their current distance. Though the guard’s would do their best to keep everyone calm. And hopefully the Captain would be able to take his leave without too many people noticing.

“Well my friend, looks like we’ll go hungry tonight.” He spoke allowed which fondling the empty pouch, though it seemed worth it in the end. It would not be long now until the male  arrived at the guard house having already heard reports  along the way of what had happened there.

The Gypsy remained close to Lady and her friend, figuring this was indeed his best bet for protection and well companionship.
Moving back around to his stall, he quickly bagged up and prioritised a few items of larger value, a couple elixirs, spells, etc. For they could be of use later. Before he returned to Dusk and Mineczka, still taking in the sights of folk rushing around, omishambles would probably be best suited.
He bowed virtuously and with an honest smile. ''My Lady, I know your friend here does not trust in me. But please, allow me to accompany you? I feel it might be the best chance to stick together, plus I'm afraid I have no one else really to stay with. However if your friend says otherwise, I shall say my goodbyes and wish you the best hm? Perhaps myself could come in useful to your services later down the line? I'd owe you a favour or two, madam.''

He lowererd his ears in a way a puppy dog would give it's owner the 'eyes'.
Looking toward Mineczka he offered a friendly smile. Oh, he knew his look wasn't to be trusted and again he knew he wasn't trusted by the women, but he hoped to atleast gain a smidgen of respect here. ''I'm not here to harm your Mistress, I am standing here as a man, asking simply of a favour. And as the choice is yours, I beg you to think wisely.''

Clutching the book to her chest with one hand and holding her snack that her friend brought her. She had already taken several bites from it and took a moment to take one more. The crowd was beginning to become panicked and she sighed. She desperately wanted to enjoy todays festivities and forget about her duties as royalty if only for a few hours. "My presence? I'm already calmed and relaxed as is!" Dusk replied curtly. It was silly to her that that people were beginning to get frightened for they has dealt with crashed airships before. What made this one terrifying? She passed Millie her book and snack one at a time to free up her own hands. Reaching up to her face her knuckle brushed away a few golden hairs tha had drifted down into her eyes. If she really had to adress the public she wanted to look calm and dignified when doing so hoping that would calm everyone further. "I'm terrible at public speaking.." She whimpered in protest but saw no other choice. Clearing her throat she quickly drafted what she wanted to say in her mind. "E-Excuse me?" She cried out. A few of the villagers turned their heads to gaze upon the princess. "Oh dear heavens." The girl said not expecting half the town to turn to her. Now was not the time for her to be meek and shy. She was a leader as her old master used to tell her many a times. Wanting to prove him right she cleared her throat and stood straight up, puffing her chest out and taking a calm relaxing smile to her face "Everyone! " Her voice spoke out louder and far more determined than before "There is no need to be alarmed!" Her head turned to look at the rabbit man and with a jerk of her head motioned him closer "Our guards are already solving what ever it is that is causing this disturbance and they are more than capable enough to handle any situation that arises!" She paused for a moment looking over the crowd continuing to smile sweetly at each of them. They talked between themselves for a few moments before a few of them dispersed. "So let's enjoy the festivals shall we?" She waited a few moments and turned to look at the gypsy and dragon behind her with pride on her face. "So how did I do?"

Vraenea: Capital City Empty Re: Vraenea: Capital City

Post by ElricBrothers Mon Sep 12, 2016 2:34 pm

He was lost.

That was the most apt word to use. Not for the sense of a loss of a direction. Alphonse could always try to find his way back home. And if he needed too, he would be found by those who wanted to find him. Miss Kitsuko, a.....close associate and maternal figure, could always find him. Especially if he had need of her too. He was certainly not lost. He was not looking for any one place to travel too. Only that the alchemist was content to travel. It allowed him to wander and perhaps get lost in the journey. Most of his life had been one of journey. And he would continue that journey alone as he was.

It had been some trying months. Things had fallen apart. Nexxian City was half of a rubble and seemingly abandoned, left to rot out in that damned desert, and the fighters of that great nation had seemingly all gone their own separate ways. Agents who had lived together, fought together, and had bled together....had split. It was discouraging to say the least.  That everyone had gone missing or were dead. Angelo's Detective Agency had finally closed down for good it seemed. Edward and Sune'ere Dra'sin had tried so hard to keep it afloat after the passing of the founder.

Alphonse Elric was sat quietly in the back of a wagon as it approached the large city up ahead. The wagon was just one of several, a total of seven, as their destination seemed to be the city. A foreign Kingdom that Alphonse had never heard of before. He had seen his share of Kingdoms and Nations while within this nexxus. The attire he had chosen for this trip was a bright red overcoat meant for cold weather, the symbol of Flamel on its back, along with the dark shirt and pants. And of course his boots. It was.....a style his brother had chosen in the past. Oddly enough no one seemed to get the dark humor behind the attire. Though there was no attempt at dark humor or imitation. Only emulation.

In honor of his older brother.

"You okay there, kid?" One of the burly men in the back of that wagon asked the young Elric. The wagon was still moving up the road to arrive at the city with the entourage on the back. Keeping company was crucial these days. Alphonse had needed a guide when he chose to enter these unknown lands. He had gotten a map from Miss Kitsuko's library but had found himself lost in no time. Thankfully he had come across a group of workers who had been looking to find employment in some town or another. They had a destination in mind that Alphonse may or may not have been willing to travel along for. Something about a mining outpost and what not. Alphonse, himself, thought about finding possible work through odd jobs. He could fix anything after all. The idea of getting paid for alchemy was certainly not to his liking but he needed to eat and his money was running low. He would need some form of income to make it.

He looked over to the older gentleman with a faint smile on his face. He was young, a teenager really, but he felt the weight of the world on his shoulders. "Just alright, Mr. Grissom. Thank you again for letting me come along." The older man only snorted and patted Alphonse on the back. Alphonse was sat in the back of the wagon with the rest of the workers while two men were at the front leading the horses. "Yeah well if it wasn't for you, we wouldn't have been able to get our wagon of supplies fixed and we'd be stuck out in the mud. Then we'd be starving and a mess." The man gave Alphonse a scrutinizing expression. "You sure you don't want a drink? You're young but you really helped us out. You deserve a drink. Especially after saving our butt and fixing the wagon with whatever clappy thing you did." Alphonse only maintained his smile and waved the offer for alcohol off. No. He didn't partake in alcohol. His brother had enjoyed a drink from time to time but that was another time.

The entourage were heading for that city now. They were a strong company of workers who were ready to find some employment and get to work. They were a group of maybe thirty five altogether with Alphonse included. The alchemist, all the while, was on edge as he turned his head to look out towards that city. They were within a mile now. The wagon of supplies they had were secure and the men were trusty with their rifles. His head shook. Nothing bad would happen. They were just here to find work. No trouble what so ever.

"Well looks like someone ended up here." spoke one of the workers in that wagon as he seemed to be staring out at something off the side of the road. There was something visible just outside of the city. Alphonse sat up and turned his head to look at the.....ship with a curious expression on his face. He had seen such vehicles elsewhere. But this kingdom didn't look that advanced to be having such technology. It was a curiosity really. But he had seen weirder things within this nexxus. "Maybe we should post some men on it. That looks like we could get a good amount of money for all that scrap metal." said another man as the others in the group chortled and soon enough they were plotting to make some money. But that would need to wait until they entered the city. And even then, the soldiers who were there seemed to have the situation well in hand. Alphonse only watched the fire with wide eyes. He could help. He could go over there and end the fire in an instant by draining out the oxygen around the immediate area. Or perhaps using moisture in the air or water from the ground. But....he was apathetic. This was not his Kingdom. Not his people. And they would likely not be appreciative of his efforts.

Soon enough, the wagons would arrive to the front gates of the city's lower gates to demand their entry, along with an inquiry for work for a company of men who were fit and ready to find jobs. Along with an offer to assist with the ship or even putting the fires out for the right price. If all was well, the company would be allowed entry into the city with no fuss. Hopefully.

His brow furrowed once more and he looked up at the city walls. His eyes narrowing for a moment in both suspicion and pain. A facial expression of shame overtook him as he thought of his old comrades who were now dead or just simply gone. Once more, the thought of his loneliness was overtaking him. They should have fought harder. They should have come together and not become divided. They shouldn't have ended up dead.

He didn't know which of these applied to his brother. A canteen of water was sipped from as Alphonse felt the exhaustion of traveling for so long overtake him in that moment. They had arrived at their destination. It was a moment of weakness no doubt. Even now he could hear the celebrating that people were partaking in the upper levels of the city. No doubt he could find a food vendor up there who was willing to sell something to hold him over. He had needed to hold out just for a while longer. But too much had happened. Everyone that he and his brother had considered family had left one way or another. And, finally, his brother had left as well. And that was a bitter pill to swallow if there ever was one.

A new kingdom. A new civilization. A new life. He was lost. And he didn't know if he wanted to be found at this point.

Vraenea: Capital City Empty Re: Vraenea: Capital City

Post by Xin Tue Sep 13, 2016 7:56 pm

Quietly the Knight slipped away from the group the words of Dusk  ringing out over the plaza as she  addressed the crowd  the din had died slightly as those gathered strained to listen though it seemed she had things well underhand as well as the guards who patrolled the  area answering any questions that they may have been  given though they themselves  would have been unsure as to what was going on outside the main-gates. Siegfried was given a mount to traverse the length of Lower-City hooves beating a soft trot against the cobbled path. Though  the streets were crowed as more and more people flooded into the city in light of the festival—people from all reaches of the kingdom as well  as foreigners though he rode through them none the less, careful not to trample anyone.

By the time the captain arrived at the gates the guards  had already  unloaded Galvery off the cart and would have brought him into the guardhouse to be tended to, the second, was there to greet  their  captain and filled him in on what had  happened as  they lead  him inside  towards the back of the gate-house to a small sick-bay.

Galvery  had been set onto  on of the beds, white  linen now stained with pools of dark circles as the  physician  began to work on his wounds, removing  shards of glass and shrapnel, stitching what need stitching while  cleaning and bandaging the rest. It was tedious  work and by the time the Doctor  had finished tending to the male’s wounds  there  was a mountain of used cloths  upon a small night stand next to  a bucket of dirtied water. “Now we wait.” Spoke the doctor as he ushered them from the  room.

The guards who had originally arrived at the scene of the wreckage were quite  shocked to find no on else on board  even after the ship  had spoken to them they could not quite understand how it worked.

“Perhaps  it’s possessed .” One mused, quietly regretting the  task that had been  given to him.  They were already at work on securing  the area when another train of wagons rolled past  leading towards  the main gate. They would  find little  resistant at the gate though usually  such as caravan  would at least be questioned and the guards at the gate made a quick inspection of the wagons just to make sure  they  were not moving anything  that could be deemed dangerous  and a potential  harm  to the people. Siegfried emerged from the gate-house, leaving  Galvery in the care of the physician as he addressed the lead cart.

It seemed that they were looking for work within the city – they also were not  alone in such regard , the festival had attracted many merchants  and tradesman alike offering  opportunity  [if only temporary] for one to earn some  coin. There were  plenty metalsmiths who  could always  use a  hand as long as they had a talent for it. Onyx -eyes scanned outward noting the extent of the  flames  which were quickly spreading to the surrounding crops and fields.

“Anyone  who wishes  to help with the fire will be given lodging until the  conclusion of the festival and  a meal for tonight” It was a much as he could offer and that offer  only extended to the caravan that had recently arrived. Most of the inns within the city were already full-up due to the festivities or priced at several times their usual fee. Otherwise they would be welcome to set up along the canal where various tents and stalls until they were able to find more sustainable income.

He set any of the men who had accepted to work—otherwise his own men who were becoming increasingly stretched would have to do, before directing the remainder of the party to a place where they may find work. A local tavern. Which usually had listings for the odd-job around the town. Fix that roof, clean out that gutter, mend that bridge.

The company would be allowed entry without much resistance, passing beneath three portcullis before running into the town itself. Spiked teeth angled downward ready to strike  at a moment’s  notice.

Afterward he saddled up his own horse and headed off to help tend to the flames himself until there was no longer a threat of the flames spreading. The Second, Drustain, was left to mind the gate and answer any further inquiries.

Vraenea: Capital City Empty Re: Vraenea: Capital City

Post by Galvery Wed Sep 14, 2016 8:02 pm

Galvery

Several hours later…

His eyes open all of the sudden and he rises quickly up off the bed looking all around him, which he takes notice of the medical equipment and other beds lying all around. He was mildly groggy and his head was pounding, though besides that as well the scarification he was in one piece. Turning he’d let his legs dangle off the side of the bed, then would let out a loud sigh before remembering his ship; which, he’d then hop off the bed to land softly on the floor. Lowering himself close to the floor he’d close his eyes. Focusing his telepathy, he’d map out the facility using -Mental Imaging-; which, allows him to trace out his environment with psycho-kinetic energy and basically give him a vague blueprint as well” life-signals”. According to his mental peripheral there were four guards and two physicians in separate quarters, which gave him ample opportunity to get out. Beginning down the hallway he remains as silent as he can be, stepping first with his heels and then full foot pressure to remain absolutely silent.

The Morph

The ship would not take kindly to so many strangers an in fact it would activate on its own security system, which bolsters by robbing from its reserve supply of power. A pulse emulates from the vessel, which would be enough generated strength to knock over a horse that would be followed by a loud siren. Armor plates would begin to in segments cover it from bow to stern, which excludes the actual doors themselves. Basically the ship was not a dead-stick, but from one of the vents comes a small metallic sphere that produces a red eye-like optic sensor and before performing a landscape sensory the strange object flies off in the direction of the city.

The Black Hand

The festival was a fine place and event to stage a kidnapping, and while things were temporarily a panic canisters were thrown amongst the crowd as well as Lady Dusk with her group. From the surrounding buildings the emitting sounds of glass breaking, presumably from the windows; which, would be followed by projectiles being fired from repeating crossbows. The smoke produced by the canisters was some kind of knockout agent, while the projectiles were bolts tipped in some kind of poison aimed for the Queen’s sisters’ guards. In the process of all this men wearing odd looking gas-mask or at least three of them with the middle one attempting to grab the woman and carry her off, while the other two wielding daggers defend the middle man.

The Elementians

In the vastness of space, it is easy to lose sight of one’s quarry, but for the advancements of the Elementians their meta-dimensional scanner finally picks up on the ionize trail of magical energy left behind by Galvery’s ship. The huge Destroyer gathers impulse power and the magi-converter translates the ambient energy through the ship, transforming anti-matter into usable sustenance for said vessel. Once fully charged the Elementian Destroyer emits a powerful harmonic wave of distortion that tears a hole in the fabric of time and space, forming a vortex that expands enough so for the extraterrestrials to fit the nearly thousand food ship through. Once fully submerged the portal closes on one side, reopening in the Yurian airspace and in no time the great ship hovers ominously just outside the Kingdom’s grasp.

Vraenea: Capital City Empty Re: Vraenea: Capital City

Post by Hellfire Fox Fume Knight Wed Sep 14, 2016 11:01 pm

The knight had taken some time finding an inn, with the festivities it seemed that most places were rather busy, though at least he got to enjoy some of this place's culture. It was not easy to find a place to stay, that is, when you are a giant cloaked figure with a massive blade hanging from your back, to be more correct about it. The inn being too busy was probably an excuse, given that every inn had told them as much in a most nervous of ways. Which did little to offend him honestly. He was surely an understanding person if nothing else, and he had little wish to make others uncomfortable in his staying there. He had decided to send his companion on their own to find a place for them having grown tired of the search, and would take the chance to seek out the little pupil he seemed to have lost. Oh... but wouldn't it be too much of a coincidence if somebody else had been looking for them as well? It had been some time since his appointment as general in the new kingdom, and there was not much that was needed of him. So of course one would think that the knight had grown soft and weak in that time. Maybe most would, but he was still in a constant state of alert. His condition did that to him. He had a true set of eyes that could never be fooled, and as he followed the tug on his flame and came within range to see them, he could feel the steps of treachery afoot as well. I hope they are getting paid well for this... was all he could think to himself as he made his way through the crowd with little trouble. His pace doubled as he felt something coming on, glass shattering, the sound of crossbows, then...

He moved in a blur, impossibly fast for his size, stepping from the crowd in total silence as his incredible blade drew up to swing the flat of it at the three assailants from the side in a single motion and attempting to knock them aside with well beyond the necessary crushing force of their fragile bodies. His real goal behind the massive force of the swing was blowing away the smoke and anything loose on the ground with a mighty gust of wind including those canisters and potentially even some unsuspecting people, though the people would not be entirely on purpose, and it was without a doubt an easy task for him. His body half way hunched over the princess an instant after, his right arm holding her shoulder protectively, ready to defend her. "Hm, guess my blade got lost in customs?" He quipped with a soft chuckle as his heavy cloak billowed before settling on his back fully, showing his impressive armor, the massive and newly restored blade's edge gleaming in the sunlight as he raised it to rest on his shoulder. He had little fear of the bolts, he doubted they would risk shooting the princess. If they had meant to kill her then they would have shot her directly, rather then use a smokescreen and sending men into the thick of it. Even if those crossbowmen's bolts found their way to him then those crossbowmen would quickly find themselves on fire and possibly blown to pieces, if not worse, though at the moment he was more focused on anyone who may be a threat to her, fully prepared to take the head off of anyone who came too close. He didn't know the bolts were poisoned, not that it mattered, nor did he know that what he thought was smoke was sleeping gas, but he did know one thing for certain. Dusk was going to be kidnapped, and probably would have been if not for him. He couldn't help but mutter to her under his breath, his words hardly reaching her ears, let alone anyone else's.

Vraenea: Capital City Empty Re: Vraenea: Capital City

Post by ElricBrothers Wed Sep 14, 2016 11:22 pm

Alphonse was sat observing the flames starting to spread as the front rider of the cart spoke to the guards posted at the gate. An urge was overtaking him to help out and to help put out the fire. It's what he would have done before.....before things had gone bad. His eyes narrowed as he saw the flames starting to spread outward to the crops and fields. It was going to get bad. If the flames hit then it was likely that those crops would be done for. Something needed to be done. He just wasn't sure what it would have to be. His teeth slowly were grinding as he fought the urge. He wasn't a hero anymore. He wasn't a Royal Guardsman or an Agent these days. He was just a wandering traveler. And this wasn't his place to defend.

But.....food and lodging. It was too good to pass up. He grunts and for a moment to consider his options. The men from this entourage of workers were already hooting and some were hopping out to assist the guards who were on duty, no doubt taking whatever orders they would give out. They were hard workers, this caravan of men, and they would do whatever was necessary. They had no other wagons or vehicles behind them so they were content to block the road up to the main gate. There was nothing more pressing than the fire after all. Any other arrivals could wait until the fire went out. But the guards who were posted would have a large force of workers now all eager to work and help to put out the fire.

His indecision was daunting but the alchemist wasn't about to risk helping those who did not need it. Those who could stand on their own two feet and handle this themselves. They were no friends of his. They were not his nation. But all the same, they were people who seemed in need of someone who was a tad beyond normal. His indecision was continuing until the vessel activated a defense mechanism of some sort. The men who had previously gotten out of the several wagons were heading for that fire when the pulse hit and some staggered back in surprise from the sudden shaking. Some of the men seemed all the more uncertain due to the ship having acted of its own accord. No, they weren't equipped to handle this. That did it for him.

The alchemist would reach up to valt over the wagon as he landed with a thud on the ground. The wagons would not be going into the city until the fire was handled first. After all this was a chance to show up just how efficient a work force they could be. However, Alphonse had other ideas. His face was set into a grimace as he approached the man in charge who had offered the lodging until the end of the festival and food for tonight. Those golden irises assessing the man in charge before he spoke quietly.

"Sir. I have a request. If I can get this fire put out by myself, will you still allow for the men to have the lodging and food as you promised?" It was an odd request, and the boy himself looked odd, as he just stared at who he assumed to be in charge of these guardsmen. His attire was a red overcoat with the black clothing and boots. White gloves were over his hands as he turned his head to assess the flames that were spreader by the second. "I can have this fire handled now without losing any men. I just need to be assured that the men will have lodging tonight." He wouldn't give any reason for why. In truth, they were his companions for the moment. He had met them outside of Nexxian and now he owed them one for the food and shelter they have given him. Alphonse could at least return the favor.

He would wait for the confirmation from the man as he no doubt would be in disbelief that a young man, a teenager no less, was capable of taking out a fire of this growing magnitude. But if Alphonse was given the verbal confirmation, he would step forward to the flame. His pace quick as he sought to ignore the ship in its entirety. No. That was not his objective at the moment. Those white gloved hands would come together for a clap as his knee came down to the dirt. To some, it may have looked like he was praying.

But he was doing far more than that.

The alchemic energy coursed from his hands through the ground. The energy was in the form of blue electricity, no doubt blinding at the center of his transmutation if one were to try and stare at what was being made. The energy sparked out from all directions as it danced not only along the ground but also into the air around the alchemist. The ground under Alphonse would be altered and start to take shape as he was lifted upward, seated upon the structure as he stared ahead to his objective. The metal was starting to come up as the structure shaped to form a nozzle at its front along with a large pump that seemed to connect to the ground. It was just over five feet tall but the nozzle was pointed forward to the flame.

His hand reached towards the newly made lever and would it pull back as Alphonse turned on the transmuted fire hose and would set about suddenly dousing the flames as fast as he could. The current of water came firing out in a huge burst. The fire hose was connected to the rest of the ground. No doubt there was water underneath the earth's crust. It was only a matter of using that large vastness of water to douse out the fire as fast as he could before he possibly ran out. But if this world was anything like his own, then there would be water. The canal was evidence of that.

There was happenings going on in the city that the workers and guardsmen seemed unaware of. But none of that mattered. What mattered for the alchemist at the moment was making sure the fire was doused out before it spread any further to the crops. It was dangerous and would likely reveal him as an alchemist in this land now that he was performing a transmutation but it mattered little. He needed food and lodging for the night.

Vraenea: Capital City Empty Re: Vraenea: Capital City

Post by Lady Dusk Thu Sep 15, 2016 12:55 am

Dusk was more than pleased to sit and watch the crowd slowly disperse, after all it just meant she had done a fair enough job of quelling their fears and now that the guards were answering questions Dusk could breathe easy. "See? Tis no reason to end the merriment!" the girl stated, a smile on her face. Her eyes scanned the crowd slowly, a habit she had picked up from her years away from home. No one in particular seemed interesting, nor more importantly, threatening to her or her companions and a half relaxed sigh escaped her lungs. "Well, Shall we continue? We have much to do and standing here won't get it done!" She chimed waving her hand to the group ushering them to follow. She had to admit she was having a fine day but something kept tugging at her heart. There was a feeling that had been bothering her all morning but she had managed to push it to the side until now. All day, since she had first awoken at the crack of dawn she had felt a familiar presence in her very being. Was it her flame responding to something or her soul perhaps? The girl was too inexperienced to tell the difference but she knew she felt something.

That presence she had felt all day did little but gently tug at her mind, whispering thoughts that she could easily ignore and push to the side but now, it was nothing but a roar in her mind. "It can't be..." she whispered turning and looking past the gypsies stand into the heart of the city below, small gloved hands reaching up to the jewel that rested on her bosom, turning it over and playing with it between her fingers. Every rational part of her wanted to dismiss it but try as she might that one voice, slowly becoming two, would not be ignored. That was, until the shattering of windows near her earned her full attention immediately. The crowd panicked once more and she saw the small canisters flying towards her. Her foot shot back and her hand immediately went to her left hip for her sword that she was not wearing. Her hand patted her hip in rapid succession hoping it would appear if she kept trying. The gas quickly made its way up to her nose, lightheaded and slowly loosing consciousness the girl staggered, her blue eyes shooting open as the men darted towards her. Instinctively, she held her left hand close to her body, a flame in her hand burned away the fabric of the gloves she had worn just for that day, revealing her burned and scarred palm. The flame grew slightly until she was in a shadow.

It all happened so fast, the men were swung away, the smoke dissipated allowing her to think clearly once more, and she was being touched and hunched over in that familiar protective stance, Her guard lowered and the flame in her hand died off, but looking up to him and hearing his words, she knew now was not safe and furrowed her eyes and took a few steps behind the Lord to keep herself safe an out of his way. She knew standing under him could just result in her getting in the way"I never thought our reunion would be quite so dramatic , Master." She replied back to him ready to fight if needed. "I appreciate your timing, I would be dead if it weren't for you."Her smile grew but she kept it under control waiting until the coast was clear before going through a proper reintroduction.

Post by Mineczka Fri Sep 16, 2016 10:29 pm

Mineczka looked to the crowd as their fear and panic soon faded once more to merriment t'was nice to watch the humans, as they would go from fear and chaos, to peaceful happiness. The Dragon never seemed to get a hold on how humans could do it, ah, the curse of living for some-odd thousands of years, you never really can understand the little things like beings with shorter lifespans can. Mineczka soon turned to Dusk, with a smile gently stretching across the youthful-looking girl's face as she spoke with a kind tone, replying gently to Dusk's question,

"As you so wish, M'lady." With those words they had continued a fair bit, though a presence unnerved Mineczka, it felt like danger, something a dragon could sense as they aged, though her senses could not pinpoint the danger or threat, it was present, and rested in the stomach of Mineczka. As she flanked Dusk once more, she kept her wits about once more, and soon that feeling never felt more true, as she heard several noises that were out of place....

Clink! Clink! Clink!

With an almost immediate and unnatural movement from the woman placed herself right to Dusk's side with a black, ghostly mist surrounding the two. The sheer presence of said mist darkened the area as the smoke had spread and thickened. Checkmate, the Dragon smirked as she thought 'Smoke cover? Just like the thick fog at home. My abilities are the best here.' she thought, especially since her senses felt more effective in the puff of smoke, compared to the others, of course. And it also made her mist that much more effective, as it blanketed sight further for anyone other than the dragon, as it was her magic that caused the illusion that she was but an apparition in the smoke. As she picked out the three enemies whom soon dove into the smoke, it came to her, 'This is no assassination, it's a capture. Fine then. They won't be able to lay a finger on Lady Dusk' she thought once more, catching Dusk from her fall. As the dragon knelt, she prepared her counterattack, while Phantom Dragons were known for being tricksters, most would not expect their hidden power, pure magical force. Said force radiated like heat off Mineczka as her eyes darted between the three, once more showing her draconic side, she readied for the incoming fight...

Or... Not. As the men approached, a fourth had entered the fray, this one was seemingly not with the other three, as he swung what Mineczka deemed "The Sword of Overcompensation" with the broad side to any enemies in the way, he seemed to hit the enemies quite well, though the smoke had not dissipated completely, especially the dark mist around the two women, as that was controlled by Mineczka herself. Though she almost put more illusions around the two, concealing them further as Dusk came to her senses, before making a hasty retreat. Yet, like several other plans that Mineczka had in this fray, it was interrupted by yet another occurrence, as Dusk spoke up, happy to see the man whom hulked over the two,

"I never thought our reunion would be quite so dramatic , Master... I appreciate your timing, I would be dead if it weren't for you."

A shot to the dragon's pride. The one mere being Mineczka swore to protect, just thanked another for their actions, and only them. T'was insulting to hear, yet the Dragon had not dropped her illusions as the mist spread, with the smoke returning as a cross-wind pushed it back into the area, adding on was the uncertainty of the number of enemies in this situation, helping Dusk to her feet, Mineczka spoke, her voice sounding deeper than usual and calm,

"I fear we may not be out of the woods yet, M'lady."

Post by Xin Fri Sep 16, 2016 11:12 pm

[Vranea: Main-Gates]

The guards set about the area attempting to contain the fire first and foremost the addition of the Caravan men was a welcomed sigh of relief though for every spout of flame they put out another sprung up in its place. Eventually, they would extinguish the flame or it would burn itself out though at what cost was hard to imagine.  Though  they began  to form a line for pale buckets, while others shoveled  dirt onto the flames, while beating tools were handed  out they continued their duty even while the carts  were  halted. Though what little progress they had made was suddenly interrupted by a sudden  force. Horses reared and the guard closest to the ship was thrown from his mount landing with a sickening  crunch as his leg snapped  from beneath the  weight of chainmail, but it was mostly the horse who had fallen upon  his leg and struggled to stand—The spooked beast ran off  into the  surrounding fields, though none of the men were eager to chase  after it concerned firstly  with the flame that  had began to spread anew, and the ship  which now watched them from beneath a  plated  shell. Reluctant to go near. A couple of the guards dragged the one who had fallen away and carried his weight between them.

Siegfried was about to act as well when the voice of another called out to him, slowly he turned to  face the child  studying him for a moment  as he claimed to have some way of putting out the flame, his  only request  was that the men be given what was promised to them. He looked out towards the field, it seemed that the  price  would be well  worth it. “Go ahead, if you can put out the flame everyone in your party will be given what was offered.” He confirmed watching then as the boy walked off then to perform whatever trick he may have had. And at first it did not seem to be  much, merely kneeling in the dirt. Clapping  his  hands together and pressing them  to the ground to the knight it seemed almost as if a ritual  of sorts, summoning forth the spout  which  had tapped into undergrounds reservoirs. The flame cackled and  hissed as it was doused with water and soon  began to  show signs of diminishing – the  men had backed back towards the gate not wanting to be in the  way of the stream of the powerful stream, rushing forth like a river and quickly filling the trench  that the ship had left behind ,it would eventually seep back into the ground.

The Knight watched almost passively; until all the fire had fizzled out [which would  have taken  some time to put out completely] though it was a lot more effective than trying to put it out by hand and most  of the field was left intact. Pillars of black still lingered upon the  air, drawing thin lines  to mix with the clouds of steam produced by the city. Slowly he approached he boy from behind, plated boots clicking lightly against the cobbled path.—“My name is  Siegfried, what do they call you?”  he questioned, having taken a sudden interest in the boy, who seemed to be able to create things out of the air, though it was more than  that he suspected.

After receiving the boy’s answer. “I will show you around personally if you don’t mind, you’ve come just in time for the festival. -“Though already  it seemed to be more exciting than it ought to have been, let alone was going on in the city itself.

[Upper-City]

Gasps erupted from the crowd as metallic cylinders tumbled upon the ground releasing a cloud of smoke  which quickly enveloped the entire  area. The patrol’s initial reaction were to cover their mouths to keep from breathing in the fumes, though that left them open to the volley of bolts which were loosed  in their direction. Wails filled the air as a few of them were struck the bolts piercing between the link of chain which was standard for the guard. Who were vastly unequipped to deal with the situation, most wielding spears—they lacked shields or respirators not having expected to be attacked in broad daylight during the middle of the festival no less.  Those who were not struck and still retained their wits pulled cloths over their faces to keep from inhaling the gas; though this depended upon a number of variables. A small handful attempted to engage the intruders in their from the darkness of the smoke,  while the rest were primarily concerned with the guests  and the  princess. They hopped that the assailants would not  target the citizens at least after they had fallen from the  noxious  gas.

One ran towards the princess’s side and called to her. “My Lad-ugh!?”  When a bolt pierced his throat slowly he turned with a horror stricken face, part of the shaft sticking from the back of his head and he fell with a thud. It seemed to those that were remaining would not have much of a chance [unless the could holdout out until reinforcements had arrived] The mist produced by Mineczka only seemed to further confusion as it mixed with the smoke create an almost blanket of black fog. To the guards dismay, the princess seemed to be swallowed by  the  mist and dark apparitions began to swirl about them, assuming the spell was unbiased in who it affected—though a few of them trudged blindly into the smoke attempting to locate them. And all seemed hopeless, when another appeared suddenly by the princesse’s side, attempting to clear the air with the sweep of his sword, granting a glimpse of  them if only momentarily—Though whatever the resulting carnage of Mineczka and the Knight’s combined efforts remained to be seen.

[Elementians]

The arrival of the Elementian Destroyer seemed to trivialize the event that were going on below as the huge ship appeared seemingly from nowhere and loomed ominously just beyond  the cities reach. Bells toiled once more announcing the  ship’s arrival though it was rather hard to miss, and soon  people were emerging from their homes  and standing upon their roof-tops to see what all the commotion was about , the fire  just outside of the city gates, the column  of smoke  which trailed upward from the  festival and now some strange flying object that those living there had never seen before, cloaked in a shroud of steam and mist which only further added to its unsettling appearance. For now however, they would simply wait until whatever fate it had in store for them…

[Galvery]

Galvery’s disappearance  would not have gone unnoticed for very long, the doctor had visited the room regularly to change any more bandages that needed  to be  changed—and apply more salves which seemed to boost the healing process. However, enough time passed for Galvery to make his escape before the doctor returned to the small room, holding a fresh  bowl of water and some new bandages , wood clattered softly against the floor as it slipped from his hands and spilled  across the sick-bay. The doctor had not expected the man to regain conscious so quickly let alone be in a well enough state to walk out of there. He left quickly enough to alert the group of guards that had remained in the gate-house and they set out at once to look for him. While a man set out to notify their Second, who had requested to be informed upon once the stranger had awakened.

Black Hand

Their first attempt had been thwarted by the giant knight and the dragoness, which left three men injured and wasted resources; however, there was always a plan B. From the two highest of towers neighboring the church that loomed over the festival air balloons had begun to inflate, then they would be hoisted into the air with the crossing winds that possess baskets. In the carrier baskets there are men, which with his progression in the attempted kidnapping the others would recede into the buildings. From the twin air balloon crafts a tethered net is fired upon the ground crafted with some kind of woven steel, which their exact target was easily placed as the Prince’s Sister and those around them once they were within range.
In the meantime, once this occurred while the guards were busy with the fire and now an invasive alien craft it was easy for those with the repeating crossbows to come around and flank the small resistance. This also made it possible to see what kind of adversary they were up against and that being eight men fully clothed in some kind of segmented armor plated coats. A wholesome mixture leather and segmented steel with samurai class helmets of the same make, plus bandana mask, wielding repeating crossbows and bastard swords at their hip. They aim and squeeze the triggers, aiming specifically for any near the Princes’ Sister.

Elementian Destroyer

There was nothing at first occurring at the ship, but the inside of the ship there was indeed something going on. The ships commander was a terrifying creature that could be considered something of nightmares and in the chief chair there sat the monstrous General Fang. General Fang was once an average soldier amongst the Elementian Incursion Force, but was eventually chose to participate in the first of the Arcane Genetic experiments that gifted the modern nobles with Lineage Forms; however, this was a more archaic time in their science. 500 years ago he was mutated unexpectedly and never could retain his original state again, which now he was a ten-foot-tall cobra-like anthromorphic beast covered in a segmented osteodermic skin, huge glowing red hues and huge meat hook-like claws. His scales were somewhat luminescent and a deep dark green hue, but from the mid of his hood down to its talon feet he was covered in Elementian Steel power armor and grasped in the creature’s right hand was a great Warhammer of some kind.

Gesturing forth with a claw a sinister voice would emit from its throat saying, “Send…forth…the away…party….” It was chilling to say the least, but none questioned him and he continued forth saying, “Do…-hisses-…not attacks… That…-hisses-…is not our…mission…” With that a privateer vessel it jettisoned from the ships haul containing liaison, which would land just outside the perimeter of the kingdom.

Galvery

The young lad was already outside the barracks and was trying to make his way further into the city, but his injuries still hindered him and he was basically limping his way. He could sense the guards that roamed the city and he knew by this point their intent would be to find him, which might also lead to his interrogation. He could not blame them for he too would want a stranger that fell from the sky meandering his home without knowing his intent. The lad crouched would sneak around in an alleyway till he found a stockpile of waste(trash), then would dig through it till finding an old cloak tattered and ragged; which, he throws around him and then settles against the neighboring building to disguise himself as a homeless vagabond.

The Black Hand

The situation had finally reached a point where it evolved beyond the sole involvement f the City Guard. A princess' life was on the line after all and the Royal Guard had a duty to uphold. A squadron of four approached from a side street just in time to witness the steel net drop upon the large unknown knight, Mineczka  and Lady Dusk, followed by the barrage of crossbow bolts aimed quite noticably only at the people protecting the princess. A moment allowed the squadron to recognize this for what it really was, an abduction attempt. The leader of the squadron reached up and quickly snapped down the face plate of his helm and waved his hand forwards; the squadron reacted with unity and charged the nearest group of bolters. Should the bolters add them to the list of targets they would find their bolts skittering from the smooth steel surface of the plate armor three of them wore. However, the fourth had not yet moved, and his armor was the most advanced of all.

Alyrion, the Shining Lance of Yuria, watched as his three man team rushed into the fray, crossbow bolts not aimed purposefully bouncing from the steel plates. The team crossed the distance and began to work at tearing away the net, just as commanded. Alyrion himself would begin to target the archers. His gauntlet clad left hand dipped into a pouch at his waist and pulled a handful of round polished stones, a staple of his offense. A single stone flashed through the air to his right palm and his fingers clenched tightly around as he lifted his arm int a throwing position.

”Rrrrraaaaaaarggh!”

He roared as he tossed forth the stone, the moment it left his palm is erupted into a brilliant yellow flash and formed a lance of energy that would burn through the nearest archer and dissipate shortly after. Another rock was deposited but not thrown.

”Hear me defilers! Retreat or die! You'll not have the princess this day!”

Now he threw the pebble, the blazing lance that formed aimed at the basket of the nearest ballon. Of course, accuracy towards flying targets in this windy season was always a bit off, so it missed its mark and just soared past the mark. Though, the warning was clear and the next target would be the easier, bigger mark of the balloon itself.

Vraenea: Capital City Empty Re: Vraenea: Capital City

Post by ElricBrothers Sun Sep 18, 2016 11:00 am

He had won the men their rights to lodging until the end of the festival in this Kingdom. Along with one free meal tonight. And considering it was a company of thirty five workers, that was saying something. The alchemist had gone to work in making this water pump that connected deep within the ground. Considering there was a canal nearby, it wasn't unreasonable that water would be beneath the rock and crust of this area. All he needed to do was make something to connect to the hose and then open fire. The nozzle was spraying over the fire now, the hissing sounds of two clashing elements coming to a head, as Alphonse sought to purge this fire once and for all.

His attention was completely on the fire. He needed to ensure that none of it was left. This was a first good impression and would get Alphonse eventually what he needed. Money. Money to eat and eventually be on his way. His left hand rose and brushed away the sweat that had formed at his brow. It wasn't that this task was daunting or hard at all. It was a simple transmutation. But it was the heat from the flames that was getting to him. Soon enough it would be put out in its entirety. Black scorch marks were tainting the ground along with the ashes of what crops had been burned to a crisp. The smoke reached up to those white clouds in the sky as Alphonse finally pulled back on the lever to stop the onslaught of water.

The fire was put out and the crops were saved. "Whoo." An exhale of breath left him then as he brought his hand up once more to rub through his blonde hair. Yes it was a very hot day. He had barely been here a few minutes and already he had needed to help with something. Being an alchemist was tiring.

"He did it! That damned brat did it!" Several of the men in the company were hooting and hollering as they celebrated being allowed lodging until whenever this festival was ending. It was free and it was once again something that the younger Elric brother had done for this company of workers. For all they knew, the festival could last the whole week. That meant that for their week, they would have to work to save up as much money as they could to get the ball rolling for their business ventures in Yuria and beyond. Alphonse, all the while, was just inspecting the fire with a keen interest. It had been there for one moment, wild and spreading like no other, and in the next moment it had been snuffed out. Such was life it seemed.

"Hm?" His head turned and the young alchemist found himself face to face with the unlikely captain. He looked at the older man, a frown on his face, as he just regarded the knight quietly. This had been the man who was in charge of this company of soldiers. He was likely a Captain of some sorts. His hands slid into his pockets and his shoulders almost seemed to slouch in a casual way. The man wanted to show him around the place personally? He thought of lying about his name but decided against it. He wasn't some wanted fugitive on the run. He had nothing to hide. "Alphonse is my name, sir. And thank you I'd appreciate it. I wouldn't want to get lost around here without knowing the land a bit more." The smile was faint, but it was there all the same as he nodded his head.

His eyes squinted past the knight's soldiers as he looked towards that city. His brow furrowing for a moment as he saw the odd smoke coming from within the city itself. "I think there might be a fire in the city? It looks like something is happening." And he would gesture past the knight towards the city where, when the knight turned, he would likely see the same thing happening. A tall pillar of smoke coming from within. Either it was a performance of some sort or once more there was trouble.

Plans thwarted rarely stayed that way for long, humans were rather resourceful after all, but who would think to expect an attack from above? Certainly not Raime of all people. He felt something coming down but he had no idea what, so he simply hunched over Dusk to shield her from it and placed his right arm over his neck and the back of his head, not wanting to make it any worse then it may be. He could only snort as the heavy steel net was fired on them however, expecting something more creative in all honesty. Then again, they may have had backup plans, but who could plan for a giant monstrosity of a man such as him? He probably could have gotten it off without too much difficulty, but he wanted to finish this quickly, so what better way then to lure them in? He turned towards the crossbow assailants with slight difficult and brought up his sword with the pommel to the sky to protect himself and Dusk from any bolts and to mask their next attack, making himself as small as he could to hide behind the blade, though his cloak was still easily visible as it fell over his shoulders once more. His right hand came down to lightly pat Dusk's shoulder who he had been careful to keep in front of himself. "Do it." He muttered, knowing she would understand. He knew that the royal guard was advancing to aid, but he honestly didn't feel like waiting, besides that, he wanted to see how Dusk would react in the situation. Thankfully they didn't need to see the enemy for what would come next, though keeping this net over them was annoying to say the least. He could hear the sounds of allies moving about, but he doubted they would get to the enemy before Dusk would, assuming she had the stomach to kill them after all, his pyromancy hand lit in case she found herself unwilling or unable to act. He could only ever recall that she had killed a single human before, not that it mattered. She was strong, and she had become far less soft over the time that he knew her. He wanted to see if she could take a life without regrets now. Like everything, this was a test to push her a little further towards making a tough decision without regrets or hesitation. It was still his job to push her towards greatness, even if she had succeeded him as the flame bearer. Then again, that flame was lost, though he still held it in his mind that she would succeed him as flame bearer, one way or another.

Vraenea: Capital City Empty Re: Vraenea: Capital City

Post by High Priest Yori Sun Sep 18, 2016 9:07 pm

The Grand Cathedral  was a place of liveliness as they  priest  prepared for the evenings festivals, offerings sermons  and praying  for a bountiful harvest, the inside was lined  with several pews  leading up to the  alter each which a large candle stand  which stood taller than most of the citizens  one  of the priest moved from  aisle to aisle, lighting the candles, using a pole  with a heated end  a crimson orbs which  glowed brightly at it touched the wick breathing  to  life a small green flame  which flickered faintly. Shafts of multi-hued light scattered across the  floor as the suns rays broke apart, filtered through tall stained glass panels which  stretched the  length of the  clerestory, and dotted the ground  in a mosaic  of color ,red, gold, and purple.  Incents  burned at strategically place locations allowing the fragrance  to fill the entire compound. It was a warm and sadly  sweet-scent  like the  passing  of summer  to autumn. The low murmurs of the choir welled within the halls, followed by the soft  echo of  the crowed as they repeated the verse.

That particular day. High Priest  Yori, had yet to make his appearance, undergoing a series of  rituals  which  required him to  be prepared for that evening  and perform the harvest  dance- a very solemn  dance, which was more or less the priest walking from one spot to the  next and shaking the ceremonial stick. The  large staff  lay on a pedestal- a solid gold rod scintillating brilliantly as the rays  of the  sun  fell  upon it from a sky-light. The  male  himself was  submerged  fully in a shallow pool of water  filled  with the autumn flowers  and  other scented  oils. Slowly  male  emerged water dripping off his form like rains to shower upon the small wading  pool and he moved to get dressed, with the help  of  two  novices  who quickly dried  him and affixed his garments, all apart of the ceremony. Long white strands were braided  with  golden  clasps  and small bells which rang with a pitched tone. Dressing the male was quite the  labor intensive affair,  and had to be done in a strict  order. Though finally, he was fully dressed. In what appeared to be a kimono.

Once Yori was ready he  moved to retrieve the staff—taking it with him as he stepped  outside the doors  of the cathedral. News  of the commotion within the upper  plaza having reached his ears  as he went. Though under  no  circumstances was  his ceremony  supposed to be interrupted. It all seemed rather trivial  at this  point. None  the  less , the man  made his way  towards the upper  plaza.

“Such wanton  destruction.” He spoke quietly. Though his face  was shrouded by a single cloth and four painted eyes  looked out over the crowed. The men with the crossbows, the  princess and her protectors, even Alyrion made an appearance  and things  were  worse than the priest could have  ever  imagined.

Why had they not sent for him? Surely any who had tried would have been turned away until the cleansing was complete.

The male however  appeared calm as ever as he  moved through the crowd checking the  bodies of the fallen to  make sure that they were still drew breath.

“Fear not my children, this too is but a  test  of faith. These blasphemers shall be dealt  with by thy hand.” As he spoke an aura of aureate began to form around him shaping a bubble of sorts which seemed   the circumference of the staff which he clutched in his left hand. He continued to moved forward, clothed feet seeming to barely touch the ground as  he positioned himself between the crossbowmen and the guards as they loosed another volley  of bolts into the crowed. Though rather than striking the male as one would suspect the bolts would be slowed significantly once they entered his field as if being shot into a pool of water. The sharp tips hovering just an inch from his face dripping deadly poison onto the ground. The particles in the air were hardened creating an almost solidus substance about him[an attempt at stopping the projectiles before they could do anymore harm] if successfully stopped, the bolts began to orbit  his form, fasters and faster, until they were but a blur. The acceleration of the bolts caused them to elongate and curve around his form as he possessed his own gravitational pull before they were slung from the bubble and back at the offenders.
