Summoned across time and space by something he had not expected, a presence that was wholly alien. The dimensional borders bled together and he was deposited in an arena where much blood would be spilled. Grinding black boots against the dirt of the arena, he breathed in the almost unnaturally stale air and coughed into a white gloved hand. His cough turned into a chuckle, had he been challenged or had his subconscious mind reached out to challenge another? Oh the problems with being a twin soul would not cease. Mere seconds into his arrival he tested his own connection to power sources far and wide which he very well may require in the next few moments of battle. Depending on his opponent he very well may need to use overpowering tactics, or he may get lucky and be offered a real challenge of skill. He moved forward and tasted the air more as he awaited his opponent to be delivered to him. Every move of his body was met with the jingling of chains wrapped around his person.

Though of course those chains were hidden, beneath layers of clothing and his usual white lab coat which he had buttoned up. Red eye's stared off into the distance as wisps of black to white hair obscured parts of his face. Maybe he would get lucky, training his son was always a possibility, or maybe one of his Bale cousins had challenged him to a duel. It was also likely that Jophiel or even his mother may soon require training for the coming wars, or even his former Sword wishing to gain favor from his empress. Then again, if his twin soul had issued a challenge on his behalf, it was unlikely to be something so sporting. Elsydion picked his moments to strike out and issue problems to the Emperor, but the power was necessary. May as well utilize his younger brothers talents since he most likely issued the challenge as far as Arcerion could tell. Arcerion knelt down, and mixed into the sand around them a bit of dust from the capital of Kresh'alam Dor. Once he stood up he would kick forward a cloud of dust, obscuring him most likely just as his opponent appeared.

Whenever his chosen opponent appeared, he would smile wide and maliciously. Oh yes, this would be interesting. The crack of knuckles and stretching his neck from side to side. If he didn't know better, he'd of taken a moment to laugh at his good fortune.

Drustan Dradghurst vs Arcerion Shuinsai [Class S, Ranked] Empty Re: Drustan Dradghurst vs Arcerion Shuinsai [Class S, Ranked]

Post by Drustan Wed Jun 15, 2016 1:47 am

The usual preamble of light and sound was eschewed for time’s sake as Drustan was neither interested nor particularly pleased to be summoned to the Gladitorial arena.  A flash of light, and the granules of sand that made the arena pit were supplanted by the heavy booted feet of the Primoris Ignis, ruby irises lit from the roiling waves of his magi.  He appeared in the garb indicative of a Primoris – the ivory cape that cascaded from his shoulders, held in place by a silver lion nearly as ferocious as the man who donned it.  Thick eyebrows furrowed in the space above his nose, in an instant irritated with the preemptive tactics of his would be opponent.  Either he didn’t know that a Dra’sin would be his opponent, or he didn’t know that the male’s eyes were a limited resource in comparison to the litany of other means by which he gauged and studied his surroundings.

Those aforementioned ruby eyes, alive with the magi coursing through Drustan’s body, climbed a notch in their luminosity as the Primoris gathered his magi and dispersed it throughout his body in even amounts.  The ground beneath his feet seemed to sink some small margin from the change in his body; his complexion even became a shade darker than its usual olive tone.  Drustan stood well outside the perimeter of the dust cloud with few intentions of venturing towards it.  He studied the cloud with the same otherworldly precision that he did everything else—breaking down the world around him into the veritable language unique to his kin.  Not long after, thin, sporadic arcs of electricity raced across the surface of Drustan’s arms, and the Primoris waited for the dust cloud to hit him to begin greedily gobbling up whatever charges those dust particles were likely gathering in their race towards him.  He would be the proverbial lightning rod—the conductor in this attempt at blinding him, though the Primoris was hard pressed to believe that was all it was.

Post by Arcerion Wed Jun 15, 2016 10:17 pm

Arcerion was pleased with his opponent the moment a Primoris graced his vision. He didn't waste what few moments he had to scent out his prey and determine intimately Drustans position. Unlike many combatants that the Primoris may of fought with, Arcerion was slightly aware of what powered the Dra'sin. In a sick way they were cousins of a like after all. Removed by genetic tampering, but not wholly different. Though Arc could not perceive a core, he knew the flame of magi making itself manifest in the realm before him when it happened. The Exercion was one of the few who could properly gauge a Dra'sins power when it was loosed. Concerning the dust cloud, as it drifted over to Drustan it was nothing more than simple dust from the arena, the particles he had mixed in from his capital planet were oddly clingy, melding with the arena dust around him, dormant for now, but ready to be activated when he needed them to be.

"I gather these games are outside of our reached accords Primoris." No matter who won and lost, he wanted no bad blood between them to tempt either into a war. These were for sport after all, and pleasuring whatever entity had called them here. "Best of luck." He reached out with both hands at the air in front of him, much like a conductor of a symphony might reach out and prepare to start his orchestra. One hand stabbed at the air, linking him to his hungering self beyond the mortal realm, calling the banquet of emotion to power his body. This manifested itself on reality as a pin prick of darkness that sucked in light and moved around his form, simultaneously forcing himself to now appear to cast no shadow on the ground, though patches of darkness still attempted to come to his beck and call. A neat after effect considering his link to the cardinal of silhouettes.

Next he would reach out to the ground upon which Drustan stood utilizing the technique he'd come to call starving reality. Infusing the ground with a sudden command, the effect was instant, and near miraculous. No spell to counter or draw energy from, Arcerion had willed it, and it simply was. Sharpened spikes of earth would shoot up from beneath the primoris and extend upwards where he stood, intending to impale the Primoris at multiple locations. As he fed more of his hunger into the next effect it would explode outwards as the ground would become molten, and aim to melt anything within a fifteen foot blast radius of where Drustan had once stood. Rocks were well and good, but nothing beat a charred opponent. The Exercion had yet to move from his position, waiting to see just what Drustan might do against an opponent who preferred to stay put and conduct from afar.

Drustan Dradghurst vs Arcerion Shuinsai [Class S, Ranked] Empty Re: Drustan Dradghurst vs Arcerion Shuinsai [Class S, Ranked]

Post by Drustan Wed Jun 15, 2016 11:19 pm

His opponent spoke, and Drustan remained silent.  The Primoris’ expression changed none.  If it put the figure’s mind at ease to unleash his concerns to the wind, then Drustan wasn’t inclined to stop him.  He simply wanted the fight to get underway.  The dust cloud, and its foreign particles, did whatever they were designed to do, be it obscure Drustan’s vision or simply surround him so he could be assaulted from all sides.  Dru made no effort to stop it, and instead let his magi continue to flow easily through his body.  Standing immobile, Drustan wasted neither energy nor magi, while at the same time falling into his rhythm, and this suited him just fine.

But eventually his opponent made a move.  Drustan could perceive things within the dust cloud relatively easily, and so the Primoris felt nothing about lidding his eyes to keep stray particles of dust from infiltrating his eyes.  Whether Arcerion knew what he was doing or not with the dust cloud, he provided Drustan with what amounted to a battery.  The electric ejections running off Drustan’s limbs all but issued the command that told the round particles of dust bouncing off each other in the cloud to gather charge, which, so long as the Primoris remained within, impunity was all but his to gobble up the charge.  Drustan could use his core magi to break down those charges and provide himself with a new source of power.  But it was easier to simply shoot his opponent with the gathered energy.

The sinking sand beneath Drustan’s feet was an effect of his density shift.  The matter making up his bones, muscle, and skin all packed in tighter; the eruption of spikes from the earth, therefore, smacked into something considerably tougher and more durable.  Hard pressed to do anything but dent the underside of Drustan’s boot, the earthen spires intended to impale him would shatter and crumble beneath him as they struck his dense hide. The Primoris took the unexpected assault to mean that his opponent, much like himself, was prone to enacting miracles without preamble.  The aforementioned electric charge was used differently with this in mind.  Maintaining his increased durability, but electing to not remain stationary for his opponent to come up with some new tactic, the narrow slits of Drustan’s crimson eyes blurred as he launched from his position, with a speed that forced the dust particles to rush into the space immediately at the Primoris’ back as he violently displaced air in his forward trajectory for his opponent.

Drustan, with the superhuman strength of his legs, and simultaneously boosting his speed and reflexes, was well out of the way of the molten explosion enacted in the wake of the earthen spikes, and was landing directly in front of Arcerion with the sort of accuracy you’d expect of someone with their eyesight intact.  The earth beneath Drustan’s feet shook violently from the impact when he touched down in front of the seeming mage, a new plume of dust rising from the explosive result of his 700 pound body slamming into the ground.  Arcerion himself may very well be shaken off balance from the seismic waves radiating from beneath Drustan.  But the man was in danger of worse things as the Primoris’ speedy right hand was slammed down at Arcerion’s left shoulder—a karate chop with the strength to break bone, and rip pounds of flesh off a normal man as his arm was removed from his body.  Arcerion may yet prove more durable than the average man, and yet Drustan was confident that, at the very least, he’d bring the figure to his knees with the strike.  In preparation for this event, the fingers of the Ignis’ left hand curled inward, and brilliant golden light began to pour into the closing fist.  Drustan was summoning, seemingly from thin air, a weapon of molten light and gold, and the air around it was unquestionably hot.

Drustan Dradghurst vs Arcerion Shuinsai [Class S, Ranked] Empty Re: Drustan Dradghurst vs Arcerion Shuinsai [Class S, Ranked]

Post by Arcerion Thu Jun 16, 2016 12:48 am

Arcerion at no point expected his first attack to be successful, even the molten slag he had produced behind the Primoris was never intended to hit, simply to move him from position. Though from his own enhanced senses he could tell that simple stone would not pierce the hide of this man. A good thing to know for the coming battle. Most would of run from him, after such a devilish display of power with the simple twist of his mind. Instead the Primoris did what any good soldier would of done and rushed the Exercion lord. Predictable Celesin Dog, they all preferred to get in close, they were effective, but to act like Arcerion would not of been moving already would of been folly. As Drustan landed, he would find Arcerion already retreating, having suffused his hunger with his body, he could now easily match the Primoris' speed, though certainly not his power at this point. Luckily the seismic shock would not affect him as he was airborne jumping backwards to keep ten feet between them. This unfortunately brought him closer to the arena's edge, maybe another fifteen feet and he would ring out himself. That would be rather disappointing. No matter he would be out of immediate danger of being karate chopped.

The dust that had been clingy around him however had been kicked forward, towards the Primoris and this time it did hold those particles from a planet he had never once set foot on. A thought twisted the dust he had brought into activation. From the dust, forms assembled near instantly, skeletal and haggard, blades of black void steel, the kind that could rip a star ships hull were not simply produced, but already swinging at Drustan the moment his karate chop reached its apex. Earth was one thing, but could this mans durability protect him from the kind of weapons which had routinely ripped apart frigates? At least four blades struck at the same time, one aiming for his abdomen, another at a joint on his shoulder and two more at the knee to halt his movement. Still more of the necromantic creations came out from the dust, with more weapons to slice and dice the Primoris. Every one of them a soul he had personally slain, everyone a warrior without peer in their own culture until the day the emperor graced them.

Upon landing Arcerion would once more flex his hungry soul upon the reality around him. Igniting the ground upon which the Primoris, much like before the ground would become molten, however there was no explosion, simply the fact that the ground was suddenly lava. Hopefully this fight would end in a simple yield and the Primoris with knowledge that Arcerion was not to be trifled with. Then again, Celesin pride was a thing, and even possibly melting while he fought off the necromancer's horde, he may not wish to yield. In case Drustan did in fact continue further he would unhinge his chains, allowing his personal weapons to clank upon the ground around him.

Drustan Dradghurst vs Arcerion Shuinsai [Class S, Ranked] Empty Re: Drustan Dradghurst vs Arcerion Shuinsai [Class S, Ranked]

Post by Drustan Thu Jun 16, 2016 5:09 am

The Primoris couldn’t be certain of his opponent’s machinations; how he accomplished the things he did was, as of yet, a mystery. And yet their subtly and nigh instantaneous nature were the issues Drustan noticed, and elected to try and deal with. As his typical modus operandi went, which was just as likely the classical style of most Dra’sin, the Ignis set about turning his adversaries tactics against him. The source of the electric discharges that did laps up and down his extremities was the oscillating electric field he was personally generating; again, a subtle thing that Arcerion, as of yet, hadn’t chosen to get close enough to inspect. Though, it was very likely he could do that at a distance. With it, a magnetic field too was created, which may have done something to make leaving Drustan’s immediate area difficult if Arcerion’s chains were made of any classically ferrous metal, but this was as of yet only a byproduct of his greater manipulations.

Still… In what little time he had to think about things… Drustan was very displeased. He was always fighting mages. Distance fighters. Would no one meet him with fists raised ready to exchange blows? He questioned his existence… and then remembered he didn’t care. He could do it all anyways.

Drustan didn’t worry much about the manifestation of the motley crew of dust soldiers with blades raised to harm him. Upon landing, and taking immediate note of his opponent’s hasty retreat, Drustan consolidated his influence over the charged particles immediately around him, which in turn meant that he’d done away with his karate chop since his opponent was no longer before him, and also put a stop to any weapon summoning. Instead, he used what power he’d drawn in from the environment, and unleashed it all in an omnidirectional, isotropic discharge of electrons, light, and heat, compromising the structure of every body, every structure, and every molecule within 6 meters (20 feet) of his body.

The Primoris Ignis erupted with all the devastation of a lightning strike, more than likely erasing anything immediately around him. The dust soldiers would first have the forces shaping them into bodies weakened if not altogether shut down; following that, the very forces that held their molecular bonds together would be snuffed out, essentially vaporizing them. This, of course, did not account for the massive heat and displacement of air that would blow back even the dust cloud that surrounded Drustan, punching a hole in the cloud where he stood. Lastly, of course, was the light and sound. The light was blinding enough; but at 100 meters, the average person still ran the risk of going deaf; Arcerion, who was only 10 feet away when last Drustan checked (all of a fraction of a second ago), was so deep in the blast radius that deafness was the least of his problems. With sound alone, Dru could rupture internal organs. Still, Arcerion had more immediate problems. He too was at risk of being reduced not but ash and free floating electrons as the forces holding together his body were compromised, and then the heat and pressure change threatened to incinerate him and blow him away.

But he was hardly human. No, Drustan expected no more than a somewhat charred opponent, hopefully greatly disoriented—it would be even better if he was on the ground and unconscious. But as Drustan righted himself, coming to stand fully at the epicenter of a massive scorch mark left in the arena floor, he took a cursory inventory of the shallow puddles of molten sand scattered around him, and the towers of fulgurite erected at the very fringes of the blast like the bars of a cage. And his core once more began to roil within him, unsatisfied with the work that’d been done. It wasn’t nearly enough.

Drustan Dradghurst vs Arcerion Shuinsai [Class S, Ranked] Empty Re: Drustan Dradghurst vs Arcerion Shuinsai [Class S, Ranked]

Post by Arcerion Sun Jun 26, 2016 12:09 am

Arcerion never once doubted his opponents ingenuity, or his ability to cause wanton destruction. Drustan was Celesin after all, and where they stepped destruction was sure to follow. As Drustan landed and the blades closed on him, he let off his first real attack against the Exercion and the gathered necromantic constructs he had brought with him. The strike hit the assembling bodies and would in fact reduce them down to their base elements to be scattered as less than dust in the wind. Though the souls were not lost, they were after all bound to Arcerion himself. It would be long moments of the souls reconstituting themselves before they could strike again. At the speeds these two were moving it would make them effectively useless for the rest of the fight unless the fight dragged on for multiple minutes.

Unlike the other Exercion present in the games, Arcerion had a much better grasp upon his hunger. The difference not measured in decades of existence but centuries or more. The actual attack and its after effects would be dealt with simultaneously as natural and activated defenses were needed to properly counteract the Dra'sins power. Concerning the flash of light, well it would be met with a bit of interference, as mentioned before there was a pin prick of darkness that circled his form, linking all of his consciousnesses together. What was once a small hungering dot around him, would actually expand in response to a sudden influx of light, sucking all in before it could properly reach the eye of the Exercion. This meant that his little light show would not in fact stun the Exercion's sight. As for the lightning, well the process of unlocking his chains and setting them free was as always simply a show of strength and play against the will to fight. Normally this showed he was becoming serious to those around him, however as the chains were a manifestation of his Exercion Aura, they really held no limitation as to where they could be and how fast they could move. Composed of an unidentifiable black metal they were not drawn to the electromagnetic field Drustan had made, but they would certainly draw the electricity into them.

As for the attempt to rip him apart at the molecular level by destroying his own electromagnetic bonds, one of his more passive defenses would blunt the majority of that strike. As Exercions grew older, and gained more herds and fed their hunger, there was only a certain point at which they could effectively "swallow" their food, the throat closing and shunting off food. Of course an Exercion's hunger was a limitless thing, an infinite void where a core of infinite potential should of been upon their creation. Which meant that they always needed their food close at hand. This meant that the food was converted into a thin extra layer of the energy they fed off of, coating their body in it. This would act much like electromagnetic shielding did, by insulating him from the outside forces that tried to wreak havoc upon his body. Though the full brunt of the attack certainly couldn't be stopped dead, it could be dampened to such a degree that using the active defense of hungering flesh, which allowed him full control of his bodies make up, could effectively keep him from scattering apart on a molecular level. The heat and concussive sound waves by comparison posed little threat to him. Genetic manipulation by the Cardinal of Silhouettes made all but the most extreme heats almost negligible to his form, and the sound, much like the electromagnetic strike was dampened by placing parts of his energy source outwards like a shield.

This isn't to say what Drustan did to him was wholly ineffective, something in that attack had certainly caused him pain as displayed openly upon a face contorted into a snarl of pain and certain frustration. It was time to strike back at the opponent, he would need to be precise and quick in his movements if he hoped to return in kind what the Primoris had given to him. Arcerion was no slouch in observation of potential threats, and he had of course seen a rather unique application of Celesin technology during the Nexxian battle. It had taken many watches of the footage upon all possible spectrum of reality to understand what had happened, but he would incorporate such grand ideas into his own techniques. Using the energy gained from the attack he'd just weathered, Arcerion wouldn't give Drustan a moment of respite, he would once more use his ability to suddenly alter reality, as it had been displayed before as simple elemental attacks, now he would simply create lines between Drustan and four of his chains. Aiming his own version of a grav harnesses tether to the center of mass of the Primoris, four chains would be drawn from Arcerion towards Drustan. Along the way the ends of the chains would morph into serrated blades, meant to pierce the Primoris at multiple points, where he believed that vital organs were. The blades themselves had a molecular edge to them, aiming to pierce through whatever defenses that the man offered at a speed equivalent to how fast they both had previously been moving. Yet without nearly as much mass to move, they would strike at a speed faster than the Primoris and indeed Arcerion himself had displayed thus far.

If they struck true, Drustan would find himself on the receiving end of not only the very real threat of impalement at multiple points but also on the receiving end of Arcerion's own Exercion Aura. These metaphysical anomalies, powered by the Exercion's own inner hunger would attempt a forced conversion of biological material into energy that could in fact feed the Exercion. Every aura was different in how it affected biological matter and in fact reality around it, some were subtler than others. Arcerion's for example rarely warped the ambient reality around him, allowing him to blend in much easier. However biological matter, like Drustan, was a wholly different story. If pierced he might find the cells that made up his person begin a rapid apoptosis, or cell death. The power he exuded was against most beings an antithesis of their very nature.

As he struck Arcerion himself was already moving to make ready a proper defense, twin ivory chains had sicne made their way quickly to surround him like a double helix, and the edges of them were bursting outwards to expand into some form that was yet to be determined by the mind of the wielder. However given the speed at which everything was moving, it was unlikely Drustan could determine the end game of those chains. After all he had more worrisome problems to deal with, like four knives trying their best to enter his body and begin to break him down at a molecular level.

Drustan Dradghurst vs Arcerion Shuinsai [Class S, Ranked] Empty Re: Drustan Dradghurst vs Arcerion Shuinsai [Class S, Ranked]

Post by Drustan Sun Jun 26, 2016 2:42 am

As expected, Drustan’s attack did little more than irritate his opponent. Where the Primoris had hoped the heat may add a bonus irritant, that too proved ineffective, and the Ignis was left certain that nothing short of beating his opponent into the earth with his bare hands would suffice to end him. But, as the thing he’d been aiming for all along, it hardly seemed like a problem. Magi remained pumped into the Primoris’ physical body, bolstering his defenses and heightening his reflexes beyond their usual scope. This was, how the Celesinian chose to deal with distance fighters and speedy individuals; for whereas he was not innately gifted with irregular celerity, the vast majority of his opponents were. In particular, the very figure who’d brought him up from a lowly street urchin was such a speedy and precise individual. Anticipating defeating that man, Dru had developed mechanisms for combating his ungodly speed.

Primoris were outfitted with nigh impenetrable vests, and ivory capes that soaked up energetic attacks. Dru didn’t need to use either of those particular tools. Instead, he capitalized on his empowered reflexes with a weapon perfect for snap judgments and knee-jerk reactions. There was little time to truly respond to the chains and the serrated blades attached to them. His opponent relied on the very tactics most people fell to when they realized upfront confrontations with Drustan were certain death. So while Drustan stood relatively idle, once again exciting his core to bring luminous crimson eyes to a brighter quality, those chains and blades—probably attempting to outpace light itself—aimed to pierce his person with the added benefit of some necrotic quality. Temporarily in capable of dodging them, Drustan elected to make time for himself by simply thinking into existence four resplendent, golden shields, each arriving nigh instantaneously at the four points Arcerion tried to exploit, and in such a fashion that the blades would crash into them before they had an opportunity to change their course.

But they were weak manifestations; designed to only exist briefly before shattering into golden shards that further dissipated into harmless photons of light and energy. But, by then, their work had been done, and Drustan’s massive body was suddenly not quite as massive, and the energy pouring through his nervous system suddenly had less weight to move around, not unlike the technique employed by Arcerion’s chains. Dru, in that instant, elected to step to his left, well out of the path of the chains and blades, briefly escaping the path of many photons, causing his body to flicker and blur. He was nearly a yard away from his original position and to Arcerion’s left when he summoned once more his Primoris weapon, employing now a different function than had been seen with his shields, but operating under the same principle of rapid summoning.

Massive swords, of surprising detail and ornateness, appeared in a circle around Drustan—like molten gold they glowed hot, and rocketed from the Primoris’ side like bullets to pierce Arcerion. Since the other was so speedy, the veritable machine gun fire of glowing swords would hound him until something struck, and as far as Arcerion would be able to tell, Dru could summon and fire the swords for an extended period of time. If and when a sword missed, it hit the ground with explosive force, detonating the area with the impact of a grenade, hinting at the sheer speed and power placed behind them and their launching. It also suggested that there was mass behind them. So quick were the shower of swords, that they appeared, for all intents and purposes, as glinting lasers, firing deftly at Dru’s opponent till he was ripped apart by the relentless fire. If Arcerion wanted to make their bout a ranged display of speed, Drustan would give him just that.

Drustan Dradghurst vs Arcerion Shuinsai [Class S, Ranked] Empty Re: Drustan Dradghurst vs Arcerion Shuinsai [Class S, Ranked]

Post by Arcerion Tue Jun 28, 2016 10:12 pm

Arcerion stood relatively quiet as the shielding appeared to stop his chains from reaching their goal, the chains moving off in wild directions from the force of the backlash as Drustan was already on the move to his new position. The sudden light show of the exploding shields would of blinded him, and forced him to loose track of Drustan. However it was not his eye's that tracked the Primoris' and it never was. He had scented his prey, and knew intimately his position as he moved a yard to his left. Never a moment of hesitation for Arcerion, he had in fact already begun a proper defense for such an assault. The ivory chains which circled him would simply continue to expand rapidly outwards, and form a massive shield to cover the majority of his form. Moving into a low crouch, the shield that was manifested by one chain would anchor itself into the ground with the other, as the weapon now acted as a form of cover for the overly tall crouching male.

The shield he had manifested was white and ornate, with a multi-colored gem in the middle of it some three inches in diameter. As swords now struck his cover, at an insane pace, the shield would not only hold strong, it would actually begin the act of absorbing the strikes, the kinetic force and heat being diverted in some way into its own metaphysical nature. If Drustan moved, Arcerion would attempt to keep them both in a stale mate position as shield and himself would turn to keep himself in cover. He would need to close the distance if he wished to get beyond the Exercions rather annoying use of cover. Now with breathing room, he would reassert command over the diverted chains, driving them downward and into the ground, the tip re-configuring into drills that would burrow under the ground and pull taut against their other end deep enough to drive the lengths of the chain into the ground to not let them be tracked easily.

Quickly tunneling through the earth, almost eating it at an alarming rate they would move to the deepest position they could before coming out the end of the floating arena. Now diverting under the ground to the location of Drustan, they would begin a quad helix directly around Drustans position. Breaking through the ground those four chains with their drills would once more shift into serrated blades, cycling through the whole of their mass to create a chainsaw like effect, as they now aimed to slash into Drustan along his knee's, waist, elbows and neck. Two on one side and another pair at the other. One swinging from the front, and one swinging from the back in each pair. If not stopped, or if they hit nothing they would simply rotate there in the air until more orders were given. These rotational saws, aiming to cut the Primoris into quadrants.

The Primoris had already proven he would be a tough fight, but Arcerion was curious by nature, curious to see if someone would die by ring out, or simply be transported to the place they had been summoned from. The ground after all at this point would be highly unstable, hardly capable of supporting its own weight let alone Drustans. The Primoris sized hole would collapse around the same time his chains made their attack. He would either move to deflect the obvious attack and fall. Move and potentially be caught within the four sided strike, or some combination of the two. For now Arcerion was content to weather the strikes and make relatively quick work of the Primoris, only expending as much energy as necessary as he began the next process. Suffusing the air around him with his own hunger, he would breath heavily. Something the Primoris was doing was making a dent in Arcerions mental fortitude, If his coming strikes could not prove successful, he may be forced to unveil more of his power. A tantalizing prospect, the last time he'd needed to perform such a feat, he had been fighting the mother of Celesin's princes.

Drustan Dradghurst vs Arcerion Shuinsai [Class S, Ranked] Empty Re: Drustan Dradghurst vs Arcerion Shuinsai [Class S, Ranked]

Post by Drustan Thu Jul 07, 2016 7:01 pm

Drustan wouldn’t forget about the number of chains the Shuinsai patriarch had summoned, nor would he miss them as they burrowed into the ground. For whatever plan the other was enacting, shielding himself while trying to indirectly assault the Primoris was a relatively obvious tactic—one which would have better worked if the Primoris had been in some way distracted. On the contrary, he made small adjustments to his tactics with the intention of dealing with all the mage’s obstacles, and without expending much energy. With his form still light, Drustan took off once again towards his left, seemingly attempting to gain another vantage point from which to fire on Arcerion with his seemingly endless magazine of brilliant swords. At the same time, he conceived of a different weapon – his axe. The massively heavy weapon that proved to be the Primoris’ primary weapon rocketed from his side to plow into the earth immediately at the Shuinsai’s left, a golden chained secured to its end, where it imbedded itself into the earth with shocking force. Sand and debris were kicked up to distract and obscure the other’s vision—which may not have done anything to stop him from tracking the Primoris, but perhaps the fine details of Drustan’s actions got lost.

But as Drustan moved, this immediately made it difficult to surround him or trap him without somehow controlling where he moved to; and the Primoris intended to keep moving, quickly as possible, with speed comparable to his initial evasion, while shooting at Arcerion, whose shield then turned in his direction to keep up his defense. Drustan, meanwhile, suddenly changed his path, and zigzagged directly towards Arcerion, inches off the immediate direction of the shield, and prepared to lunge from its direct path at any given moment. His hand continued to grip that aforementioned gold chain as if he had planned to steal the other’s technique in some way. Truly, his plan was an inspired idea, courtesy of the Shuinsai. Given the opportunity, Drustan would attempt to run right by the shield, giving it a wide enough berth to avoid coming within more than a foot of it.

Drustan Dradghurst vs Arcerion Shuinsai [Class S, Ranked] Empty Re: Drustan Dradghurst vs Arcerion Shuinsai [Class S, Ranked]

Post by Arcerion Mon Jul 11, 2016 11:27 pm

Arcerion would not be given the pleasure of sating his curiosity about what a ring out would cause the Primoris. As the man moved to avoid the burrowing chains and that section of the arena collapsed beneath its own weight, to fall into the void below. However those chains never stopped moving, a pair darting after him, at equivalent speeds to the Primoris, never closing the gap, but at the same time not falling behind. This would force the Primoris to continue to move in one direction or another, but never backwards. Backwards would be death. The other pair however moved away from the Primoris, the whole of their lengths now imbued with that cutting quality that ate away at everything they touched. Stretching farther in the distance and pulling upon their considerable length that was underground.

The axe which had been thrown did little to move the grounded shield, using the secondary chain as a pivot which Arcerion stayed crouched behind, and as it turned to block the Primoris attacks, Arcerion in a squat would move with it. Those chains linked with his mind, he knew just when and how far to move with the rotation so that not even a toe was exposed to his opponent. Unfortunately for Drustan the limit to Arcs own chains had not yet been reached. Another pair dropped from behind his back, and moved rapidly to wrap around the axe. He didn't doubt that the Primoris had thrown it for a reason, and the golden chain was noticed. Though he couldn't see that it was gripped, and his senses were only limited to biological beings, the way it moved and was taut as Drustan himself continued to try and flank him meant that it was attached to something. With the chains wrapped around the axe, they would attempt to dig downwards, dragging the heavy mass with them towards the bottom of the arena. Unless Drustan could indefinitely add to the length of the chain, he might find himself dragged towards a hole in the ground. Considering how he simply manifested weapons it was not beyond the scope of reason for him to be able to do that, but at the same time, they would remove the axe from being an immediate threat to the Exercion.

As Drustan suddenly changed direction directly towards the Exercion Emperor, he would grin, his plan coming to fruition as he continued to suffuse the reality around him with that infinite hunger of an Exercion. Two chains still chasing him, the other pair which had been sent towards the arenas edge would go taut as the pairs length suddenly emerged from side opposite of where the Axe had been thrown. At shoulder and waist height, the entirety of their length a rotating blade meant to not only rend flesh but cause rapid cell death should the Primoris foolishly touch them. This would cut off the Primoris' escape path to Arcerions right hand side, forcing him to either back up, run right at the shield, or start moving to Arcs own left. By limiting the Primoris options he could much more easily predict just which option he would be forced to take.

As Drustan drew closer, Arcerion rerouted some of his hunger into his physical form, buffing up his strength to such a degree that he could not only match the Primoris speed, but for a single burst movement could exceed him by a large margin. The other white chain dislodged from the shield and went towards Arcerions hand. The Exercion pushed off from his crouched position directly at the charging Primoris. As he moved suddenly and rapidly more masses of chains followed in his wake, rising into the air above and immediatly to his left, eleven in total. It had been much too long since he had needed to use the seventeen faces of hate. With his knowledge of where the primoris was located despite not being able to physically see him, he could theoretically make small adjustments on the fly. However unless the chain Drustan held onto, had disappeared this too would be used to assist his strikes accuracy. As it was slightly off to the side of Drustan it would be quite close to the Shuinsai's mobile cover, and as he drew closer would probably be scraped along by the shield. The charge was sudden, and with the distance already closing rapidly Drustan might not even realize what was happening before it was much too late.

His intentions were to shield bash the Primoris, striking him full in his center of mass with the shield. Should it strike, the gem in the center which had been absorbing the kinetic energy of his ranged attacks would release in full everything that it had absorbed back at Drustan. Enhancing the shield bash from an already obscenely strong being to cataclysmic levels. The force at the very least would halt Drustan momentarily, possibly stunning him. If struck however it was most likely that the Primoris would be sent backwards. With that pair of chains behind him waiting to skewer him Drustan might find himself impaled upon them. The rotating blade, and the rapid cell death from his own impalement would make quick work of the Primoris. He would have seconds to yield before the Exercions own manifestation of his hunger destroyed his physical form from within. If struck the chains would not cease at two points of entry, they would quickly turn around and begin to skewer him multiple times to accelerate the process from different points.

With the shield bash finished Arcerion planted his feet once more on the ground, in his left hand he held no longer a white chain, but a shimmering long sword with a cross pommel, and a jewel attached to the bottom of the hilt. Ready to react that chain Drustan had summoned would give him a better idea of just where the man was and what his next move would be. With the gap theoretically closed between them, Drustan might now get what he came her desiring. A close combat fight with someone who could conceivably give him a real challenge. That is of course unless he was already in the process of dying. Maybe Celesin pride would be the death of him, and they would be in need of a new Primoris. These games had their uses after all, and if successful, Arcerion would need to send a messenger to Celesin in the coming days with his offer.

Drustan Dradghurst vs Arcerion Shuinsai [Class S, Ranked] Empty Re: Drustan Dradghurst vs Arcerion Shuinsai [Class S, Ranked]

Post by Drustan Tue Jul 12, 2016 2:16 pm

It was time for Drustan to stop running. Not only was he hardly concerned about the chains, but the Excercion’s confidence that they would be of some issue to the Primoris seemed to be the reason he was confident he could stunt the man’s mobility. In Arcerion’s defense, Drustan had elected to defend against them with shields from the King’s Forge as opposed to weathering them with his magi or body, limiting the Exercion’s knowledge of exactly what he could do against them, which was usually the method of Drustan’s style. Simplicity was just as dangerous as any complex strategy if it was executed properly—unbeknownst to Drustan, Arcerion had even gone the further step of believing the chain extending from the Primoris’ hand was a boon to him, rather than the mechanism of his downfall.

The axe Drustan had thrown was exceptionally heavy—while the Primoris had not planned on letting the weapon fall through the ground, it did nothing to impede him, especially as Arcerion did as he was expected, and turned to face Drustan so that none of the resplendent swords got past his shield and tore him apart. This was precisely Drustan’s plan, to turn Arcerion around, so his back was to the axe. It began to slip beyond into the floor, and Drustan simply tugged on the chain, and down the length of the chain his magi tore into the axe, which was ripped apart at its molecules, turning into several tons of iron dust.

The axe, again, of obscene weight, was packed as densely as possible with ferrous metals—the sorts of materials the Primoris had previously displayed an aptitude for manipulating in some limited capacity. Arcerion’s proximity to the axe was also unfortunate for him, because the metallic dust that sprang up from the hole opened up had a very short distance to travel in order to enshroud him.

But the man had other plans, which Drustan had also planned for, and before he made contact with the veritable wall formed from the other’s chains, he stopped, and with his right foot leading, faced Arcerion with his arms drawn up in front of his chest such that massive forearms created a barrier between him and Arcerion. Magi collected earlier in the bout extended outward—approximately 5 feet—from his person as every muscle in his body simultaneously flexed. The air grew dense in an instant, and the area around the Primoris grew heavy in tandem with the warrior himself, who packed on all the weight he’d shed to move quickly around the arena. His skin darkened once again, turning into veritable sheet metal while his magi poured outward, distorting the air, and taking the shape of his forearms enclosed around him. The goal in this movement was simply to brace himself for whatever was coming, which turned out to be a powerful shield bash, empowered by the kinetic force of every sword Drustan had shot at the Exercion.

To some extent, Drustan had expected this; it was altogether why he’d been prepared to lunge out of the way at any given moment, but also why he’d risked getting close in the first place—to limit the amount of traction and acceleration the other could summon. Of course, his insane speed wasn’t helpful, but then had the other exactly expected him to density-shift again and summon an altogether new defense? Assuming he had, he was very likely to break past Drustan’s defenses, ripping past the thick wall of magi with a massive explosion of kinetic energy, sending dust and debris rocketing from the point of impact, which in turn sent ripples running through the viscous manifestation. Lastly, Arcerion would come to collide with the Primoris’ arms, which would be tasked with soaking up the rest of the force, as he hunkered down, using his weight and tough exterior to defend himself and try to remain unmoved. Even then, he couldn’t stop his body and bones from rattling from the impact, or keep his feet from sliding backwards. The chains intended to impale him would also meet those defenses; the viscous, corrosive magi wall, and Drustan’s exceptionally tough hide, admittedly made a little less exceptional in the wake of that impact with Arcerion’s shield.

But assuming they slipped past as well, none of it would truly matter as the Primoris held his position, undaunted by physical damage, as the aforementioned iron sand finally made its move, and engulfed the area immediately around Arcerion, limiting his escape options to a foot in any given direction. Meanwhile, Drustan painstakingly maintained his corrosive shielding, which Arcerion had succeeded in breaking past, placing him smack in the middle of it. Even if it didn’t eat at his body, it would fight against the very powers fueling his chains and other abilities, which also may have been a losing battle, but would hopefully leave him vulnerable to the metal coffin that would turn into an Iron Maiden torture device. Chains and spears were held at bay in the thick magi soup he’d summoned; the soup that only Arcerion had managed to get behind thanks to the energy Drustan had supplied him with for the shield bash. One could almost say the Primoris had given the man the key he needed to open the door to his trap.

“Yield.” Never having missed the sword Arcerion tried to summon, but hopeful that its summoning was hindered by magi and iron alike, Drustan was nevertheless prepared to use his ample amounts of metal sand to do awful things to Arcerion in the event he wished to resist as opposed to yield. He’d only say it once.

Drustan Dradghurst vs Arcerion Shuinsai [Class S, Ranked] Empty Re: Drustan Dradghurst vs Arcerion Shuinsai [Class S, Ranked]

Post by Arcerion Thu Jul 28, 2016 11:26 pm

Arcerion could sense when the axe turned into particles, after all the chains had been wrapped around it and dragged it deep underground. There was no way to block them from rising up from the ground as they had become simple molecules that could get past his chains, but Arcerion was aware of them. By simply extending his hunger outwards he would harden the ground into a concrete like substance, forcing Drustan to expend more energy to bring the molecules upwards. There was no stopping them but he could hope to slow them down.

As Arc surged forwards it wasn’t what Drustan had given him that fueled his forwards momentum, but his own vast hunger which would push him through the air fueled with dense magi. Using his own body's hunger to change his genetic make up to something more resilient, more dense to force the magi to work harder. When he struck Drustan with the shield was when the whole of his attack would be unleashed back against the Primoris. Knocking him back potentially more than he had anticipated.

The chains moving from the opposite side, would pierce through at a slower momentum than Arc had anticipated. The feeling of the magi defense wrought into his mind as they a much denser hunger that ripped apart the world around them fed upon the energy in the air. However the slowed nature would stop them from impaling Druistan truthfully, just enough to cause them to bounce away from his denser frame. Though bounced away they would still attempt to wrap about his limbs and destroy his arms with their rotating blades.

However despite this the fight was alreadu lost and he would be a fool not to realize this. The ferrous material in the air already making to solidify and show that the Primoris had him in checkmate. When the single word was given Arcerion would nod. His blade simply clanging against the side of his shield in a resounding sound of disappointment. “I yield for now Drustan. Well played.” He assume that the defenses would be brought down, after all the match had been decided, and he would soon leave this plane, but with an increased knowledge in just what the Primoris Ignis was capable of, just as he knew now what he might be capable of.

Before the forced teleport out took place he would simply grin and bow to the Primoris. “Thank you Dra’sin, it has been ages since I was last at war with your kind. The knowledge of my new found power against your own has given me much too think about. I’ll need to bring up this new discovery-” He simply teleported out. After all he’d already yielded, so the games saw fit to bring him back to his usual time line. Whatever his sentence was, would remain shrouded in mystery to the primoris.
