The Man from New Mystglynn Empty The Man from New Mystglynn

Joachim Junayd had traveled for endless cycles it seemed. He had never run from his responsibilities, to military, to home and family. The only one he had betrayed was his caravan leader, and after her descent into insanity, not even his battle brothers would blame him. At some point he had become separated from the cadre of nomads he commanded. Now he wandered Sanctum, searching for food, shelter and purpose.

This man rested in the stands drinking water from a dented iron mug. He had the top of his head wrapped in a thin red and black head wrap that covered short hair, and to keep it on it was tied with a simple silver string. Dark brown eyes matched tanned skin, while a thick beard of brown hair covered the majority of his face hiding the smaller micro expressions of the world weary traveler. He wore loose fitting clothing that matched his head wrap, and a simple pair of loose pants held up by a belt were around his legs, puffing out farther than they needed to. Beside him was his gear, a full set of yellow metal wholly unfamiliar to Sanctum, but well made and light in the place where the nomad hailed from. What may of stood out to onlookers as this man enjoyed his rest was the battle worn shield, the emblem of a black and red spider hand painted onto it, hiding many dings that the defensive instrument had taken over the ages. Finally next to that was a simple axe, metal handle with the blade a curious dark steel with purple and red markings running through it. The alloy weapon was one of the strongest in his known world, and it would take an army of fools to rest it from him. The last gift of a long dead friend.

Watching the arena pit, as well as the doors the man would stand and stretch, and begin to gear up. Plate armor and full helm, leg guards and shoulders as well. A single gauntlet on his weapon hand that meshed into a bracer of the same yellow metal. Draining his drink, he would whip the ends of his head wrap to function as a scarf, obscuring his face. He had made a deal with the propriator of this arena. He would fight, and win. He would gather coin to continue his journey. Maybe one day he could find his way back to his city, back to his brothers in arms, back to a dead wife who deserved every arrow that had peppered her body. One day he would rejoin the drakon, but today he needed money.

Whoever was the first through the gate would be greeted by the nomad, and then he could begin to earn his keep.

The Man from New Mystglynn Empty Re: The Man from New Mystglynn

Had flown in the day before and spent the night parked out under the Sanctum night sky, which was a splendid sight off all the realms and display of galaxies amidst that endless abyss. It was as if it were the center cross roads of everything in some sense of the understanding. The Morph as his ship was referred to as was a long reverse teardrop shaped vessel with sideboard mounted engines, which it was obvious this ship was made specifically for speed and maneuverability, plus was made from an extremely powerful metal called Oiadium. It had a silver sheen ablative covering and had two distinct entrances/exits that were the cockpit hatch and the rear cargo door. As the drilpi-cordziz half breed laid there on the ship a voice was emitted from within towards Galvery, which was the entity that actually controlled The Morph, whom was a byproduct of the metaphysical nature of the vessel’s power source the Dragon’s Sphere that was gifted via the ork Malice and the voice says, “You know Galvery there is an inside and you could sleep away from the bugs in safety.”

Rolling his eyes the half High Elf would reply, “You just worry about you.” The ship huffs via an exhale or steam from one of its vents saying, “I was just trying to show concern.” Blinking Galvery sits up and looks down at the ship saying, “You never seemed concerned before.” The engines would move back and forward as the thrusters dispersed gunk as the ship literally throws a fit responding, “Fine. See if I try to care again.” Waving his head he replies, “You’re just saying something now because you feel bad for earlier.” Reaching up the young lad would toy with a stray tress of his golden blonde hair as he listens to the ship smirking, “You don’t know me! You act like you know boy! Fine. I’ll just keep my opinions to myself!” Mentally the young alien goes woo-hoo, but says nothing outwardly as that only invite more talking from The Morph. Rolling his shoulders he’d consider the next day and where to go, but as his thoughts roamed his body was relaxing ;which, he’d eventually start falling asleep without even realizing it.

Waking up the next day Galvery would roll off the ship and then with a telekinetic voicing the cockpit hatch would open and he’d climb on in. Getting some food together he’d prepare his breakfast and then eat, though once he was done he’d put the dishes in the automatic cleaner where he’d let them get cleaned. Stretching the lad would exit his ship, then close it once more with a telekinetic thought. He had his weapons on him, which consisted of minibombs, magiberetta, the staff he got from Janus’ shop an of course the more utility based toys. Once within the Arena he’d come face to face with the weary warrior, blinking various times he’d eye the man but would eventually nod once the shock wore off. It was obvious he wouldn’t be allowed to leave without accepting this man’s challenge and he says, “Okay. But I have no money.” He wasn’t lying as most of his supplies were those given to him or he earned them via whatever manual labor asked, which what money he did have also went to refueling an other supplies.

The Man from New Mystglynn Empty Re: The Man from New Mystglynn

Joachim had no idea what Galvery was, some kind of planar race clearly, but he fit into none of the predetermined places, not even a little bit. As he approached with weapon and shield at the ready he would hear the mans response, as if he knew his exact intention. For all he knew Joachim may of been passing by, but instead had chosen to take his approach as a sign that he would be fighting. His eye's narrowed on the man, as he eyed him and some of the equipment he was unfamiliar with. He could see the flow of energy from his breath from his training, see how it embedded in his body, and could generally gauge by this flow where weak points were. A simple use of his knowledge of anatomy and energy sight.

"You don't pay. The arena does. Sorry." He raised his shield before him, clanking the flat of his axe against the shield, before leveling the back of crescent axe near his shoulder ready to strike. He had been following his opponent with his eye's since he stepped in, assessing his every move and gauging just what he might be capable of. Taking in every way he could possibly attack. He stopped fifteen feet from Galvery. He waited to gather his breath and center himself, before he would launch into an attack.

The man was quick, a battle trained mortal his moves might be hard to follow as he closed the distance between him and Galvery, his shield raised in front of him, the kite type shield covering from shoulder to knee, held out just far enough to allow him to break into a full run. Once he was within striking range he would veer off to Galvery's left, and strike overhand with his axe, aiming to smash the business end of his weapon into the mans collar bone, near where armor was weaker to allow for full range of his necks movement.

The Man from New Mystglynn Empty Re: The Man from New Mystglynn

The young half-breed gulped and then observed the other as he was preparing to attack, pulling from his belt his magistaff, which goes from single handed duel sticks to a single six foot bowstaff after connecting the two ends. Afterwards he’d whirl it around as though he has been using it all his life, but in truth it was only the training he had from his long dead grandfather. When the man began to charge his extraterrestrial hues would follow him with relative ease in comparison to a regular human, so when the warrior decided to sidestep, jump or whatever to attack him with the axe he could manage to observe his movements. Ducking and then rolling to the same flank as his weapon arm he’d remain low, swinging the stick in quick succession around over his head like a lasso to build momentum; however, not for long as he means to knock the man off his feet. He’d then roll backwards to his feet, whipping the staff about till he held it forward in a ‘long front stance’. His left knee is brought to the brunt bent and leaving him slightly knelt, while the left remains in reserve straighten to reinforce his stance and there he’d wait for his opponent and while his adversary was extremely quick for a regular human Galvery was something else entirely.

In this case the only thing that gave him the advantage was his Drilpi-Cordziz anatomy that was significantly more than even the most conditioned human. Though they are in a sense humans themselves they are engineered to be natural super soldier to combat the terrible god of darkness Rahama back on Elementia during the 10,000 Year War. War was their sole reason for creation, but over the 400,000 years since then they had evolved to be more than their original fate dictated.

The Man from New Mystglynn Empty Re: The Man from New Mystglynn

Joachim was not a young man, just well built and as his people called it, fated. The fates of his realm tended to keep him in peak physical condition. Warriors were always in high demand. Joachim probably had ten if not fifteen cycles more experience on the field of battle from this pup. The staff would be an interesting weapon to fight against, not unlike a spear his battle brother had used for many cycles. As his opponent tucked himself in for a roll, Joachim would lower his stance suddenly and significantly, going into a crouch, which would adjust the trajectory of his axe to once more intercept Galvery's rolling frame, though where his might strike with his bladed weapon was most likely now not as damaging as the collar bone. Possibly striking a tucked in arm or a leg if he was fast enough.

Now that he was crouched as the swing of the staff came around Joachim was already popping up in a jump, effectively turning to face his opponent and hopping over the swung staff that would of tripped him had he not already needed to pop up quickly enough. It was a good call on the man's part to try and trip the armored man, it was a tactic he would need to watch out for. As Galvery stood and went to take a more defensive stance Joachim was already charging him, shield held out to block any attacks, he would move to meet the staffs head with his shield, and then pivot along the center of it towards Galvery's body, and pushing off his shield to swing the stick back away from him with a forced push. Already he was closing the distance and swinging the blunted side of his axe into the mans gut hard enough to wind him. Pulling back his blow instead of following through, he would immediately go to strike at the mans shoulder blade with his axes blunted edge. This strike holding nothing back and intending to follow through with enough power to dislocate or break a bone.
